Hard to believe really. If true, it's probably the biggest difference in performance of a PS4/Xbone game so far.

Half the frame rate is easily noticeable and unaceptable.

Tomb Raider was also 30fps of Xbone and 60 on PS4

At least in TR's case.  Resolution was 1080p on both consoles.

Actually Tomb raider's resolution was variable on Xone!

Tomb raider was a semi-linear game; SoM is open world so it should be more performance heavy.

Awesome Vgchartz user name.

If this is 99% confirmed BS, how does a dude with a press kit and actual game case with the res output printed on the back, end up getting the res output for the game wrong? That's just baffling.

Microsoft has never put native resolution on Xbox 360 or Xbox one game cases. They state what video output is to tv. Ryse for example says 1080p on box. So if he has shown a picture of the box its photoshoped. Shadow Of Mirror game case will be no different to the rest. It will say 1080p on the case.

Nope.

''To begin with, let's address the differences between the two versions of the Definitive Edition on offer. PlayStation 4 users get a comfortably delivered 1080p presentation backed up with a post-process FXAA solution that has minimal impact on texture quality, sporting decent coverage across the scene, bar some shimmer around more finely detailed objects. Meanwhile the situation is more interesting on the Xbox One: the anti-aliasing solution remains unchanged, but we see the inclusion of what looks like ---> a variable resolution framebuffer in some scenes, while some cut-scenes are rendered at a locked 900p, explaining the additional blur in some of our Xbox One screenshots. Curiously, the drop in resolution doesn't seem to occur during gameplay - it's only reserved for select cinematics - suggesting that keeping performance consistent during these sequences was a priority for Xbox One developer United Front Games.''

Lazy developers. After seeing things like Ryse and Forza Horizon 2, this should not happen.

Forza Horizon 2 is a car game, most of the detail is in the vehicles and the tracks. In reality the areas beyond the tracks are empty voidless areas of low poly items and still images.
