Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which Company Do You See Leaving the Console Business First?

so?

Microsoft 452 77.26%

Nintendo 54 9.23%

Sony 79 13.50%

Total:585

1. Microsoft
2. Microsoft
3. Microsoft

Reason why is because American investors want profit ASAP. They don't have the patience to deal with anything short of breaking even.

Sony first because they are alreadly working on it, actually. They have been trying for some time now make console games work on their smartphones(with the xperia) and their TVs(with PS NOW). They said that they're not allowed to fail with PS4, and they mostly try to go with the indutry trends, and the trends apoint to smartphones as future of games.

M$ second because altough they said they would make more consoles on the future, they alreadly tried to make something more connect with the cloud and be service based, so i think when given the oportunity, they will make consoles that will only playback azure apps from the cloud.

Nintendo last because they are not to fond on follow anyone path, let alone adopt new bussiness model before they got proven by other, like with free-to-play.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

This ...

All three of them have roughly equal chances of going out of the console business but more so on Nintendo because of the fact that their recent strategies as of late have been more vile than helpful to their business. Nintendo is absolutely hopeless on trying to make more customers and depending how well they support the 3DS despite the New 3DS releasing will show how much they actually care about satisfying their existing customers. The question isn't when they'll start making customers again, it's if they ever want to otherwise their going to continue to be in a tough spot at the console space.

As for both $ony and Micro$oft, one has issues with profits but the other one has issues with their investors so they're pretty even as far as the situation is concerned about leaving the console business ...

In case the mods didn't know the "$" character is poke at a joke.

honestly microsoft, because i feel they will move to a digital service sometime in the future, most likely all will.

Microsoft will leave first after they realize Xbox is a waste of money. Sony will leave next after going out of business, and Nintendo will leave when their savings run out.

I only heard of one console manufacturer where its investors called for dropping out. So I'm going to pick that one.

That pretty much sums everything up. Though their IPs will probably never leave gaming. They will be bought up by some chinese investor to make lead filled toys.
