I don't even think I really know. Nothing's really been a standout for me yet. Smash Bros for Wii U is more than likely gonna be my GotY, but for what's come out already, I guess I'd go with InFamous: Second Son, which says a lot when it's probably my least favourite in the series. Still really good, but I definitely like Cole's games more.

Just curious to know, why is Second Son your least favourite in the series? I personally though that while Infamous 1/2 were average/good, Second Son was great. The gameplay was far better, different powers lead to alot of variety and Seattle itself was a far better setting than the previous ones.

But we can agree on one thing, that is Second Son is the GOTY 2014 so far.

Part of it is because I love electrical powers. I've always thought that if I were to have a weaponized superpower, electricty would be my choice, so I'm kind of biased like that. I also thought Second Son was a lot shorter than the other two and that the world, while beautiful and detailed, was smaller. I'm also starting to get tired of hearing Troy Baker voice every protagonist nowadays, at least when he uses his normal voice. When he was Joel in Last of Us, it was different enough that it was fine. But here's a Native American character who I feel should have some sort of accent. A really weird point, I know, but it kind of ruins the immersion because I know it's him at all times. The gameplay was still as good as ever overall, but there was a bunch of little issues I had with it that makes me like it a bit less than the other two.

Electricity is awesome, but Infamous 1/2 didn't really make it feel that special. I thought they were both a bit off when it came to gameplay, especially the combat.

As for the city itself, Seattle is indeed smaller, but the atmosphere of the city was far better, and it was a more enjoyable battleground than the ones that came before. The story was also shorter, but the gameplay was so much better in Second Son that it doesn't really matter if its short or not. I could barely complete the first Infamous, as the gameplay was so horrid, and the second one wasn't much better. Second Son addressed all the issues I had with the gameplay.

Dark Souls 2.

Calling it - Bayonetta 2 for me.

I havent seen anything that i feel is GOTY worthy. Maybe Dragon Age, if it isnt an unexpected blunder.

Actually, so far only Danganrompa 2 comes to mind. But yeah... western press will ignore any niche titles, regardless of quality.

Well, the only two that I have played this year are Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Wii Sports Club.

Well by GOTY I mean the best game of the year so far, compared to other games released THIS year.
