Part of it is because I love electrical powers. I've always thought that if I were to have a weaponized superpower, electricty would be my choice, so I'm kind of biased like that. I also thought Second Son was a lot shorter than the other two and that the world, while beautiful and detailed, was smaller. I'm also starting to get tired of hearing Troy Baker voice every protagonist nowadays, at least when he uses his normal voice. When he was Joel in Last of Us, it was different enough that it was fine. But here's a Native American character who I feel should have some sort of accent. A really weird point, I know, but it kind of ruins the immersion because I know it's him at all times. The gameplay was still as good as ever overall, but there was a bunch of little issues I had with it that makes me like it a bit less than the other two. |
Electricity is awesome, but Infamous 1/2 didn't really make it feel that special. I thought they were both a bit off when it came to gameplay, especially the combat.
As for the city itself, Seattle is indeed smaller, but the atmosphere of the city was far better, and it was a more enjoyable battleground than the ones that came before. The story was also shorter, but the gameplay was so much better in Second Son that it doesn't really matter if its short or not. I could barely complete the first Infamous, as the gameplay was so horrid, and the second one wasn't much better. Second Son addressed all the issues I had with the gameplay.
