Forums - Nintendo - Hyrule Warriors Producer Would Love to Work With Mario and Company

Maybe not a Dynasty warriors game, but a different spin-off.

I guess this means the overall partnership over HyWa has been a good one.

Meh ... to be honest Koei-Tecmo is not that great of a developer. I mean they make OK 7/10 style games, but I don't think Nintendo should be handing them the Mario IP willy nilly.

Nintendo needs to be more strategic about these third party partnerships, they're not a bad idea in principal but they should make sure they're something that actually can sell the system.

Mario x Dragon Quest or Mario x Final Fantasy = big sales for all parties involved.

Mario Musou or something ... c'mon.

If they want to work on another Nintendo project let them make Hyrule Warriors 2.

Musou Mario? Hmmm... I do want to kill toads so maybe

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I don't think a Musou Mario game is something I would really want.. :/

HyWa is easily their best crossover title, and one of their best titles in general for the Musou genre, which probably has a lot to do with Nintendo's overseering of the project. There's a lot more quality control present then their usual releases and a lot more "nice touches" then their usual cross-over releases. (Or the developers are super-fanboys of Zelda.) They should continue with a more fleshed out HyWa2 that's better built for the WiiU architecture if sales in EU/NA pan out (and they seem to be panning decently from the early look of things, and positive word of mouth going around).

Wii U? Nah. Make it for the Fusion. Will likely have a far bigger audience and get sales more worthy of that much effort.

That will be HyWa3: Adventures in Space. These Musou games can be churned out in short order even with Nintendo lording over their quality control because most of the tools have been built and streamlined over the past couple of decades. And since the WiiU architecture is going to get absorbed anyway, its not like it matters. Might as well give the system a few titles in 2016.

Somehow, I find irony in how WiiU is ending up with some of the best titles per genre... I guess that's what happens when you're losing.

Let them make Punch Out DOA style spinoff

Dynasty Warriors Zelda does seem like something someone thought up when they were drunk.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
