Forums - Gaming - The Vanishing of Ethan Carter releases tomorrow, who's getting it?

The game looks fantastic. It also looks like Murdered: Soul Suspect, but with a real mystery and not designed to treat the player like an obtuse dullard. Maybe I'm getting too hyped for it, which seems to be going around this year, but to my knowledge it's the first open world mystery game, and it tries to provide the creepy, uncomfortable dread that horror games have been lacking the past few years.

I will get the PS4 version if reviews are good, hopefully we get a release date soon but looks like it will be early next year at the earliest

I'm pretty excited about the game, but my PC wouldn't be able to play it at more than medium details, so I'm waiting for the PS4 version (and some reviews).

Maybe, not sure yet though...
Probably when it's on sale!

I'm getting it Day 1! (when it comes out on the PS4 that is)

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I heard the minimum specs on it were really low because of the photogrammetry method of texturing that makes it looks so good.

Can someone explain that to me? I'm just a fan of games and playing them, and have no idea how something like this works, but it seems really interesting. It reminds me of how RE4 had amazing fire effects, even compared to games today, by using a technique that's somewhat more archaic but similar.

If this technique catches on and gets a few more refinements, it seems like it would make developing gorgeous 3D indie games easier. I know I previously never thought of an indie game as very visually impressive unless it involved an artistic styling. I never would have guessed some of these screenshot were from a small indie team and a game that had such low minimum requirements to run it.
