Stop please... the example was made last gen to say the reviewers are giving just 9 and 10 to games... they stoped and changed after a lot of complains.

I used the image to show you are soing the same wrong thing the reviews did for years.

The right table IS YOU... the left table is the CORRECT.

77 is GOOD.

They haven't changed their scales at all. Like I said, go look at how metacritic operates on what it defines "good" or "bad" and where its colors change. It literally operates and weighs scores, those aggregate numbers we're throwing around, using the right scale. You can go an do this right now and see this very fact., Reviewers do this too, where a game they find to be bad will still end up with a 5 or 6 because it is objectively functioning as a "thing" and little else. In fact the weighting is even worse now because you have reviewers that are working off of set-5, or reviewers that work off of a binary scaling of "Yes" or "No".

No matter how much you may want to keep repeating it, it just isn't true. 77 is average to above-average since it is farther from 7 than it is from 8.

Fixed again for accuracy.

Read my @prinz_valium to you understand why you are wrong

Stop fixing what isn't wrong.

And I read every post. Like I said, you can go to Metacritic right now and see how they inflate video game review scores. Movies are, surprisingly, rated using the correct scale and weighted accordingly, but video games are not. And, remember, that metacritic weighs scores after the fact. They do not take numbers raw and average them, they actually weigh them themselves, adding on that same improper inflated bias.

They are not anymore... since this generation started.

That why games started to receive 6s, 7s and 8s instead of 9s and 10s.

Well, this was a very silly conversation, but vena is kind of right ethomaz.  A lot of reviewers use the weighted grading scale to review games.  Not all, but a lot of them do.

Reviewers have not standardized what scale they use and probably never will. So both of you are wrong and right, as both scales are used to review games.  So stop argueing about it...

Provide evidence of this because I have not seen it. I see consistenty inflated review scores just as they were inflated before.

if 1-2 is E

what score would be F

edit: lol nvm us only use a-d and f for everything below. in germany we got 6 grades

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academic_grading_in_the_United_States

Percentage Letter Grade Percentage Common Meaning Numeric Grade
90-100 A 94-100 Excellent 4.0
80-89 B 87-93 Good 3.0
70-79 C 80-86 Average 2.0
60-69 D 75-79 Below Average 1.0
0-59 F 0-74 Failing 0

but they still use f for anyting below 60%

u use it just for the lowest 20%

US uses a 1-10 scales where F (FAIL) means 1-6.

It is like that:

1 = F
2 = F
3 = F
4 = F
5 = F
6 = F
7 = D
8 = C
9 = B
10 = A

It is a unproportional scale... in fact they use a 1-5 scale using a 1-10 scale... you have this scale:

6 = F
7 = D
8 = C
9 = B
10 = A

But they says 1-6 is F and after that you have the the scores right... so no score will give you less than 6 in US grade that means FAIL.

The review score is a proportional scale.

but thats not how it's be used

they dont give 1 - 3 score in general

only 3 games below 20

only 15 games below 30

only 13 games below 35

(just looked up the 360 scores)

vs

35games above 90

they use the scores like the grade system

so why not just accept that? if they would use the full scale, scores for every game would go down (beside the 95+ ones)

i dont see ur problem here

destiny at 7.7 right now, or at 5.9 if they would use the scores proportional

would not change anything

I can't take anybody serious that says 7-8 in 1-10 scale is average... sorry.

This is a valid point, not all reviewers partake in it.

Some of you would be better off playing Destiny
Others would be better off not talking about Destiny...

I hope saying this isn't a moddable offense. Just..advice.
