If it does nothing to hardware, I wonder if Nintendo will be open to the idea of letting Platinum port it to another system in 2015? I'm sure both Sony and Microsoft will be keen to get this game on their platform. Money hatting for ports, this should be the new thing :p

A well known, flagship franchise that Nintendo have released for thirty years cannot compare to a semi-niche title in a semi-niche genre on a completely unproven platform. If someone were to release the sequel to ZombiU or Wonderful 101; there would be no reason to expect high sales either. These are not very good numbers for Bayonetta 2 and lifetime sales will likely fall very short of many expectations. I guess we'll see over the next few weeks how it does; if the holidays can't help it move along, nothing ever will.


oooo for god's sake i do not compare them ;)  simply i disagree to take japan as  an indication for bad or good sales in the west and  i suggest to wait for the western release,if it also  fails there then feel free to call it a flop:P


It's true that Japan is a poor indicator of performance in the West, and vice versa, but I don't see any reason to think it'll do much better there.

Like I said; we'll see over the next few weeks, 2nd and 3rd week sales are a lot more telling of potential for lifetime sales.

i m glad you agree ;) i think in the west can do far better...in the best case can sell 1m LT :P

ouch! bayo 1 sold 50%+ more on the 360 than Bayo2 did on WiiU?!!!?!?!!?!


Technically Bayo 1 sold 100% more on the 360, while the Wii U version sold 50% of the 360 version

Well, I guess I overreacted a lot with Bayo2. Sure, 38k is better than 20k, but still... the 360 had a tiny userbase when Bayo1 released, and still sold almost twice than Bayo2! We can only hope for legs now, and I doubt it'll have good ones.

What's with the random 3DS boost? Didn't we say that the New 3Ds is cutting of the O3DS legs?



Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

That would be rich. Kamiya telling his fans to "fuck off" only to port the title in hope that those same people bail his game out.

Of course I know what I believe the fans response should be if that situation ever arised.

From who? Nintendo's targets? To be honest they could very well do that. A ton of people in the west will be buying the Wii U this holiday, probs 2 mill.5 (this will be its peak holiday IMO).Picking one up in november december, it'll come bundled with Mario Kart or Smash (or even both), and the next game core gamers will turn their eye to will be Beyonetta 2. I honestly believe this will give it a second life during the holiday.
