are you kidding?

Nope, dead serious.

Those prices are in AUD, but it works out to $88 USD for a game, $381 USD for a Wii U, $532 USD for a PS4/Xbone.

Being a gamer down under ain't cheap.

this is unfair for the Australians!you are such a rich country, why so much high tax?

Damn right it's unfair. I haven't got a clue why it is, it's been this way as long as I can remember. Maybe just because they can get away with it?

For much of last gen I ended up just imported my games from the UK, it was cheaper even including international postage.

Good, hopefully, i'll find one at 150 euros, already bought one in 2011 so i dont see myself buying an other at full price this time

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

The XL is about 170 euro before shipping and possible import taxes if your country has them.

It's not actually the government taxing us, it's publishers taking what they can get away with. As for income down here its actually worse than US. Although minimum wage is pretty damn high iirc.

Lucky You. for once something good arriving to you first!
well deserved!

Switch!!!

Pfft, you Australians have it cheap. A Wii U costs USD568 here. A PS4 is USD628 and a X1 is USD 678. The games only cost 25 USD though.

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

I often bought things from Canada or Us to France but never from Australia so i dont know how it works, 170 euros only would be great. ( i guess the official price here will be 250 euros)
