Oh believe me, I'm hyped. But man I hope this game will deliver. I have no doubts it will at the very least be KH on deltoids :P but we need more than that for this game. It's gotta be special.

I'm trying to get hyped...but I can't. FF's 7-X ruined the series for me, in that ever since I've only ever wanted more of those same elements from an FF. Yes there are some comparisons to 8, but for me there's too much emphasis on the reality aspect in this one. It looks great, but doesn't feel like an FF to me. I remember I used to get so excited about a new series game, and couldn't wait to discover the new world and characters in it. I'll hold off being hyped till I hear about 16, and pray they don't play the sequel game with this one.
Now that's a signature!
Noctis's body is running out of space!
So hyped! This is looking like one of the most important games of the generation.
VXIII said: By the way, the poll results make me think that SE should have made the game exclusive to the PS4 :p I DO think SE underestimate the importance of exclusivity though, the hype behind exclusive games could really make a big difference, especially when you know how small the fanbase is on the Xbox. Probably even smaller than before. |
Good point. SE could focus on making the PS4 version the best it can be and really kindle the interest of old Final Fantasy VII fans from PlayStation.
However I'd be surprised to see SE turn their back on Microsoft after the Tomb Raider exclusivity deal.
I'm excited for FFXV but not as much as before, I'm still skeptical about its battle system. I'm more excited for Xenoblade Chronicles X

Gotta love them double standards,
Sony 3rd party exclusives = A-OK, ideal, totally sensical even.
MS or Nintendo getting a 3rd party exclusive = clusterf*ck thread of Sony fan's melting down like little kids being told they're not going to get that trip to Disneyland. Not only that it's "bad for the entire industry!" (even though Sony did the same thing 10-15 years ago).
Don't get me wrong I have a PS1/2/3/4, PSP, and a Vita for good measure, but there is definitely an extra annoying aspect to the fanbase that has a strong whiny sense of entitlement.

I think it's much more annoying when someone like you take the opinion of a single person and hold him responsible for what has been said by other people from a certain fanbase.
I think I know one person who voted for the Xbox One version now. lol
Anyways, take your consolewar elsewhere! This is a hype thread bitches!

Generalizing... . You seems to be way too involved, so set back and try to compare the two situations. :p
First, MS and SE deal is a good decision from MS perspective. It is just a good business for them. Still, The fanbase of Tomb Raiders is bigger the PS consoles, it sold more on PS3 and PS4. A sequel to Tomb Raiders was announced to be in development in 2013. The deal just held the game from being on other consoles, even though the PS4 got the definitive edition of the first game.
Now, as for the assumed situation of FF XV. The vast majority of fanbase is on the PS consoles anyways. The PS4 is dominating the market, the hype of exclusivity would give the game "blind" praise, something SE really need for the franchise atm. Also, The fanbase on Xbox is just small even in 360 days, we can imagine it is even smaller on the One.
Still, it is just an assumed situation, don't take it to the heart
