Best RPG's? I suppose the Final Fantasy franchise doesn't count.

Funny,  I haven't actually seen a Final Fantasy game on the PS3 yet.

There is no question that the 360 has easily the best library of JRPG's and WRPG's.

I don't think the console will EVER lose it's WRPG dominance over the PS3.  Furthermore, I think it will still hold it's own in JRPG's until at least two years after Final Fantasy XIII comes out.

I wonder what happened to Cry On. Mistwalker announced it at the end of 2005 and there hasn't been anything about it since.

Sakagucci was talking about it year or so back.  He wants you to cry tears of joy and happiness.  The whole game is about emotion.  It's meant to be an action-jrpg unlike the turn-based style of BD and LO.

The xbox 360 clearly does have the best RPG lineup right now, but in the next year or two I could see myself picking up a PS3 for blu-ray plus some of their exclusive upcoming RPGs (but definitely not FFXIII. Absolutely tired of FF fanboys)

what is up with this ban feature that actually hides the user that posted?
It makes it really hard to read through threads...

Uh, the best RPG out on either system is Oblivion, and the better version is on PS3. PS3 is also getting Eternal Sonata, by all accounts an average RPG anyway. Fallout 3 will be on both. The only Western RPG advantage is Mass Effect, which will be balanced by White Knight Story (unless they aren't western). But whatever, the 360 has the advantage right now, but it won't last.

Incorrect.  White Knight Story is a JRPG, one with a combat system that is increasingly looking repetitive and boring.  Sony got Oblivion long after the 360 did, just as theyare getting ES and Overlord LONGafter.  Two Worlds is an excellent WRPG now that it has been patched, and MS has Fable 2 coming, it will easily be the best WRPG on any system this year.

So thats Mass Effect, Two Worlds and Fable 2 by the end of 2008 exclusive to 360.

And by the end of 2008 the PS3 won't have a single WRPG of note exclusive to the system.

As for JRPG's, do you really think that WKS stands up to ES, BD, LO, Cry On, Infinite Undiscovery and Tales?

Thanks for playing.

Oh but of course, my last post was unfair.

Sony do have Folklore (hehehe)......

360 has a much better RPG lineup than PS3 and the Wii, so in terms of this generation, the best RPGs ARE on the 360 so far.

Starcraft: you keep talking as if you've seen new WKC clips that has yet to be shown and the battle system remained the same, why don't we wait before we criticize eh? if you want to accuse a game of having a boring battle system, we can talk about BlueDragon and LO. Tales of Vesperia has a high possibility of getting to the PS3 (just as ES) once it flops in Japan. But one thing is certain, WKC is going to sell better than any one of the 360 JRPG in Japan and FF13 will do better than everyone of them combined.

As for Two Worlds being an excellent WRPG....well, that's just your opinion. I didn't have a great time with the PC version and i doubt a patch will turn the game from shit to gold.
