They need to drop all the models except one or two at most per year, high end only. China has the low end locked up, and they should focus on cutting costs massively. If they can't get deals with major phone companies to promote them, then they should end phones entirely. Do you think Sony's deal with Sprint will do anything? While Sprint is much bigger than T-Mobile, it's still not as big as getting a deal with Verizon or AT&T.

Now now... Sony still have money much in the bank, everything is good.

Not Nintendo they have billions in cash reserved and zero debt ...nintendo is far from struggling they have been losing money but nowhere near Sony ....

PS4 can´t be trust to be the Sony life boat for long.

I have posted here saying that the smartphones would be Sony´s next house of pain, as TV division was in the last few years.

I don't get calling out posters that claim Sony is in trouble and ever facing bankruptcy. They lose billions of dollars a year, do you really think that is forever sustainable?! I mean really? They can't print money, it will all come to a head one day. And like Kowen says, they perform in gaming a every other division (aside from insurance) does not do great.

And even gaming likely isn't making good profits. PS3 is winding down, Vita doesn't sell, and PS4 is break even. They won't be making hundreds of millions a year on it.

Playstation has become a lot more important than it has in the past. Here's hoping that it will give huge returns to Sony and by the time the PS4 hits critical mass, hopefully Sony will be profitable in its smartphone division. It's really annoying how there's always that one division that loses a lot of money...

Good thing Sony is already profiting from the PS4 itself. That'll go a long way throughout this generation.
