So basically, not even remotely close to pure gold. Karats are a shifty way of grading gold. 9 karats of "PURE" gold is only 37.5% gold. Even 24K can be as low as 99% gold. I'm a bullion man, and anything less than 99.9+% pure is a disgrace to precious metals.
