So it's better to get the game and three figurines that you will like, instead of this starter pack.

You can also train them as your own virtual pet fighter and let them challenege against each other or even yourself. They can go up to level 50 and recognize player's attack patterns. Nintendo still needs to explain what it is they do, what you said must be just one of the more things. From E3 it also sounded that each game specific figurine would have different features, but all of them would have standard amiibo state for all the games... at least that is what I understood.
