Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Smash sell big off Hype alone, like Destiny did?

There's a huge difference. Smash Bros is already a well established franchise with a proven record of excellence. People want it so badly because of how much fun they've had with the previous entries, not based only on how much hype this one has been getting. It's unlikely to bring in a lot of new people who already don't like Smash, while Destiny had to sell itself majorly to get people to buy it, since the only track record it had was that it was made by the same guys who made Halo. Different hype based on different audiences,

First of all They are not break circle pads out of frustration, they are breaking it because they are stupid and mashing the pad and buttons. As well, Yes Famitsu did not give it a perfect score, 40/40 is almost impossible. a 9.25 or 37/40 is REALLY good for any game, so I don't see where you are coming from there

Nop, if Mario kart didn't do it, neither will this game.

Also this is the 3DS version we are talking about, not the Wii U version, which will most likely be better, so we could see a 40/40 for the console game

its not really hype if its an established series..

It's going to sell big off being one of the most popular franchises in gaming. Did you really need a thread for this Spurge?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Mario Kart and 2D Mario are games you buy with that console. Not system sellers, Super Smash is a system seller. Mario Kart gets more sales but Super Smash definitely a much bigger system seller.

Smash is an established franchise, Destiny is not.

Smash will sell by hype and it must!

In 4chan (/v/) the reception to the game has been excellent. Even the "tourneyfags" people who hate brawl and love "competitive" Melee and Project M like it.
These days have been filled with hilarity because of the whole code begging thing, people did unspeakable things in order to get a demo code.
