Point taken on the date of n3ds's announcement. As for WiiU, yes. Considering how much money Activision throws into its advertising, I would say that's where the spotlight went.

The audience for Destiny is just worlds apart from WiiU's. No, what we're seeing is a natural decline from June.

140k > 81k > 59k and (weekly) next month will be lower. Simply because Mk can't sustain that baseline of sales as time goes on.

You don't think there's overlap? Casuals for example may not know any better and pick up a PS4 because they saw the advertisements about it and bundled with Destiny? Forget about it. Casuals are a big group.

Nope, no overlap, you're suggesting WiiU should be static because of MK, doesn't make sense.

Yeah. If Destiny didn't exist then WiiU wouldn't be falling,t hat's your opinion right? Well WiiU isn't falling that much 81k > 59k in last month. So what kind of sales would you be expecting?

No, that is not my opinion. MK8 helped but as with any other piece of software, it would eventually run out of steam. In addition, other games on other platforms would attract consumers just like MK8 attracted people to the WiiU.

As for what sort of sales I expected? I have no clue considering I almost never go out of my way to keep track of them. Too busy just waiting for the games I want to play to release.

(weekly). I already accounted for it being a 5 week. And Hyrule will do nothing.

keep writing  with  these unbeliavable certainty...!hyrule warriors ,i think that will give at least a two week boost, like did in japan...pre week and the week of release if not a long term boost!you know seece hyrule warriors outsold wind wakers hd first week in japan with double difference ,this makes me optimistic!wind waker hd had been released in the same period in 2013 and boosted wii u a lot, pre-week,in the week of release and quite long after(mainly in usa)!do not have wrong notions ,hyrule warriors is treated like a zelda game and japan sales mean nothing ,wind waker HD had a  worse opening in japan, now have sold 1M+ thanks to USA,you will be suprised;)

It's Japan. They're open to Dynasty Warrior games. The west is not. Hyrule will not do better than the Zelda remake in any market outside of Japan. It won't boost hardware sales either. It's only a little bit above 101, ZombiiU, WiiFitU ect when it comes to selling systems. Bayo slightly above that.

Obviously the first thing they should do is demand from their current head of advertisement or whoever has been in charge of the current media pushes over the last several years why they should keep their job.

Seriously, while we all know Nintendo doesn't have the resources or clout to get major ad time space like Microsoft or Sony can, what they have been doing television wise and with just general exposure has been crap for every game not featuring Mario. It seems only word of mouth carries their better games to other people's lips and pushes sales because Nintendo has stopped trying to do it themselves outside limited live demonstrations, online videos and other fairly inexpensive routes.

I'm not asking for a Destiny or Halo level media blitz for just one game but if Nintendo really wants to move more units, they have a wealth of games coming out within the next few months for the Wii U and should be trying to push those as the clear alternative to your standard FPS, Madden and Assassin Creed heavy holiday schedule their competition is pushing.

Its about games, yes but you have to let the people know the games exist as well and more importantly BUILD the platform brand and not just try banking on past success to carry you.

cut the virtual console prices in half and pay sega to release DC games. and push out 10 virtual console games a week. thats a cheap way to get more of the retro/indie market.
