But it's already dominating and it's only getting better for the Ps4. Let's be real, the Playstation 4 will most likely dominate this generation even though some hope it won't(like you) but that doesn't mean the Xbox1 will automatically be a massive failure. The Xb1 is still selling many units and while it's not enough for it to be number 1, it's still successful on it's own. But of course you are free to wish and hope for it to one day rise up to the top.

dude... dude... dude! Xbone will NEVER catch the ps4. Look right, this gen the ps4 was set to succeed.
Nintendo went after a market that has moved on and has moved back to the core (in other words, they got off to a terrible start and will improve for the rest of the gen).
Spybox 1 screwed itself at launch. DRM, always online... these things crushed all chances, not to mention that the ps4 will have the better looking/better playing multiplats.. Regardless of how you look at this gen ps4 domination will happen, no matter how much people like me don't want it. (I was kinda hoping they'd go under but hey if the xbox divisions leaves the industry that's a win for me as well. #Nintendofanboy)<---halfjoking
In all honesty Xbox 1 to me has the better exclusives and I hope it does well, but I want the Wii U to outsell it LTD however china kills any chances of that unless nintendo launches over there by mid 2015. The Ps4 is selling on hype mainly overhype. As fast as you think that hype is dying something else kicks up... oh well ps4 wins 8th gen

I don't see the gap reaching 10 million much less 30 million. |
My prediction is 50 millions gap
x1:70 millions it's not a bad number at ll
ps4:120 millions
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Marketshare my man, marketshare. |
So do i usually , but LTD market share is pretty misleading when talking in the present. Looking at that you'd think the WiiU was just a few paces behind the PS4, not being outsold 2:1 - 3:1.

X1 is not going to reach anywhere near 70m. 70m is close to 360 ltd, and 360 had a shot in EU, and led US/UK handily. This time EU has binned them, UK is 1.5:1 for PS4, Japan will be a fraction of last gen, and the US is heavily leaning PS4.
PS4 110-125m
X1 35-45m
WiiU 25-30m
Fwiw the U is my favorite of the three but reality is reality. People see npd and think the X1 isn't getting destroyed globally, but it is. Worse, it only sold well for two months in 2013. 2014 it's lost more than 3 to 1, and is going to be down 1m in the US starting Oct 1st. Too much inertia and social mindshare to fight.
PS4 is already dominating now? Beating Xbox One in sales in every territory? Xbox One might get a little closer but no it's obvious Sony is winning this gen.
It depends on your definition of domination. A two to one margin is domination. It really is. Xbox One can be dominated by the PS4 and still be "okay". It doesn't really matter how much the PS4 piledrives the Xbox One because Xbox is backed by cash. Microsoft often buys games and offers them for free to people buying their system. In fact, it is probably safe to assume when looking a Forza, Madden, Fifa, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive, and every other game this week, that Microsoft is the biggest single buyers of Xbox One games. I would estimate that Microsoft has purchased about 10-20% of all games sold on Xbox One.
But I digress. The point is that if you look at the 15 million consoles sold by Sony and Microsoft this gen, Sony is indeed dominating with 66%+ of that total.
Even though, I myself feel PS4 does not deserve its sales and the hype, I think PS4 will dominate but nothing even close to ps2.
The real question is if the second is gonna be WiiU or X1. WiiU GO!!!!
I am inclined to agree with you. However, I certainly would be more confident (like many) after seeing what the Xbox One does this holiday. I have said from the start I thought its' sales were "fine", not great, just fine, and that it would be a successful consolve when all is said and done. I have been somewhat surprised, though, every time a situation lines up in Microsoft's favor to boost sales significantly (whether that be a game, lack of software on competition or the removal of the Kinect) and it just never seems to do quite as well as I think it will. So, I certainly think the holiday will help clear that up a bit.
Overall, though, I also believe the console will be fine over the long haul. As a multiplat guy it still is not a viable option for me to add next to my PS4 but that may change in time. I eventually added a 360 last gen when a couple of exclusives interested me. If they would only work on an Alan Wake sequel I could get excited about it. :D
