I'm not seeing anyone + Kinect Sports for that, I may have missed it, but I know not everyone is a fan of Gears. I know Shika isn't, and having people target games is not surprising. That happened in Seece's thread and it happened in the PS thread. If you see someone target your game, go after theres. Hell I saw a guy tell other people to vote up something else in an outside thread. It's just the nature of the game. It sucks that obviously better games like Gears get targeted, but the weaker ones don't. That's why for me I try to target them instead.

I remember the winner of Seece's game thread was Earthlock...

Haha! I remember that. It was a little different though, because Seece's thread was for all systems including third party, and only upcoming games, nothing already released. It ended up becoming a mix of console wars where people voted based on console, and hype wars where people voted for their most hyped game and voted against the most hyped game they weren't personally hyped for, with a bit of genre wars where people voted for the favorite title in their favorite genre while voting down the next biggest thing in that genre (in particular the RPG warring was ugly, if I recall).

Most of these game do suffer from some amount of questionable strategizing, however. People voting things down that they know is a good game and probably wouldn't mind if it placed higher, but wanting to take it out so it doesn't threaten their own game just because they saw one or two people vote for the game while voting down their own. That was the advantage of the Nintendo thread. With only 10 games, there was nothing small and easily ignorable that could last long simply by being overlooked, and all the titles were some of Nintendo's most beloved, so for most people they didn't have anything against any of the games. When the results came I was pleased with the entire placement, and I only voted twice. There was some strategizing, but it was less prominent, and affected things very little.

Heh!  Yeah, it was a bit of a frustrating game to watch but I actually found the end result kind of funny.  You've got all these well known, highly anticipated games, and then at the end, everyone is like, "Earth-what?"

Hopefully some random indie game won't win next time!

Oh, I don't mind an indie game winning if it deserves it.  Some indies are great.  But that isn't what happened in that particular thread.  Earthlock only won because the whole game devolved into fan wars between all the big titles.
