Forums - Microsoft - Minecraft Now Exclusive to Xbox Like Tomb Raider!?

Seeing as how Microsoft is going to buy the Minecraft studio, I think it's safe to assume Minecraft will only be on ios, PC, Windows Phone, and Xbox 360/One

I predict Minecraft will be taken down from Playstaion 3 and 4.

I feel like if you want to play the best version of this game you either have to own a Xbox One or gaming PC.

Thank goodness I got this game on Xbox One.

Will it become exclusive like Tomb Raider??

I don't think so. The game will probably be stay available on all platforms.

Praise the One.

At least wait til it actual happened
For now it just a rumor

Why take em down when there's profit to be made? :P

It's just a rumor. Why would they spend billions on mojang when there's no way they will ever have another success comparable to minecraft and they just fired 13000 employees ?

Around the Network

I really kind of doubt it. o.O I mean, 1) Microsoft is going to want to make back that immense sum of money, and limiting platforms is not the way to go about it, especially given the PS3 is an untapped market compared to the Xbox 360, who've had it for awhile and therefore will have less sales potential so late in the generation. 2) Having it exclusive isn't going to do as much to boost the Xbox One as some people seem to think. o.O It was exclusive on the 360 until VERY recently, but it didn't keep the PS3 from catching up in global sales, so I don't see why it's suddenly going to be this massive system seller.

Either way, I'll be playing the superior PC version, soooo doesn't really affect me personally either way! =D

Or It Involves Moving Furniture, in Which Case Zanten, F*** You.

You mean Exclusive or Exclusive Exclusive Exclusive?

Hmm, pie.

If it happens they will likely keep it as its own thing. They can make money off of Sony as well as tshirts toys, tv shows, and all the other things that come with the minecraft brand. XBOX will probably be the definitive version though.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Exclusive like Tomb Raider? So... not actually exclusive?

If this deal is true then I think Microsoft have acted far too late to capture the Minecraft zeitgeist. They may well put them to work on a sequel, which would of course be exclusive to Xbox and Windows, but I think their intentions are probably to use Minecraft as it is (ie on all current platforms) and use it as a revenue stream for microtransactions.

It's a rumor for now, but I personally think that spending 2 billion on Minecraft is a very silly move...
