ah, I see he was already broke it then(I wish we had a EA insider.I would love to know the whole process that happened with the Wii U, not jsut theories from the media. But the NDA would come in also).

Basicly what I though happened. I think they even at one point came out and admited they broke the team apart. It cracks me up when people still say that they delayed this for the gamepad. It seems pretty obivous to me why they did what they did. That was obivously just a work around on the situation. They could careless about the gamepad, they want this game gone as soon as possible(refering to way back in May).

Gamepad integration takes 2 or 3 weeks of work from a very small team to implement, depending on what you want to do with it, it does affect development but nothing too serious, if they want to use only remote play that can be done in 1 week, is very easy.

They admited the team splitting in march of this year, in some interviews like this one..

It actually takes courage to release a delayed game on a console in which has shown very few support, so it pisses me off that people dismiss the effort and talks bad about the game or the developers, just keep quite and don't buy it that is bad enough.

Hey, I'll buy it if it's technically sound. If it's not, I won't. Simple as that.

By the way I do have a friend who works on EA, but is lower on the food chain so there is almost nothing he can share about their bussiness decisions, only that those were bussiness decisions supported by research data of their marketing teams. The painful part is that he can get me their games for a very good price, but they don't produce anything for my console of choice.

Courage or not it's a situation of their own design and people know that Watch Dogs high chance of flopping as a result will be pegged later on down the line as the U owners' fault.

Question is how many are dismissing the game just becuase is delayed? I have seen many do it already, even if they don't have another option to play the game, they are "punishing" the developer for unfair reasons.

well, they've purposely set this up for failure. Delayed it past the game drought when would were starved for games and waiting until the massive games for the Wii U to come out such as smash, sonic, Captain toad, Bayonetta? Not to mention on the 3DS as well with Pokemon? Like come on. They made a statement saying that Nintendo owners don't want mature games so they needed to make sure this game would fail so their statement would not be contradicted and plus, they can blame Nintendo fans for not buying their game but instead buying more popular games.

You've got to be kidding me if you think Sonic, Captain Toad and Bayonetta are more popular than Watch Dogs.

Poor handling of a game deserves punishment like it or not, the game should not have had a massive delay to begin with especially as the U version was mentioned as early as 2012. Even if they put out a well done port bad handling on Ubisoft's part is still a slap in the face of consumers, a number of developers have been guilty of the same approach and then blame U owners when they don't buy their hack job test games, to give you an example I work in Media and Finance and if you cock something up it can cost you a lot of money only in the financial sector it's not the consumer who gets the blame it's you for messing up.

Gaming is the only industry that acts like the consumer owes them something even when they mess up or try something dodgy.

We should all boycott games like Pikmin 3 and DKC: Tropical Freeze, that company is treating us like second class gamers, how do they dare delaying those games.

The problem with third party is that they no longer care about our bussiness, we are a whinny costumer that doesn't generates enough revenues, and to be honest in that case you focus on those that makes you the money, and dismiss the other ones, and to be honest it makes perfect financial sense, that is why many companies do it with the Wii U.

i'm going to get it for my WiiU.

34 years playing games.

I'm sure this isn't how it goes for everyone, but I buy a game if it looks good and interesting. Sure, a delay is always annoying, but it's no reason for me to want to boycott the developer. I don't buy stuff to support whoever made it, I buy something because I feel like playing it.

As of now, I have to say Project Cars is looking like a really good game and I still want to get it on the Wii U despite the delay.

The thing is, not only has this delay been the latest on Ubisoft's ridiculous Wii U support (besides it being delayed for 6 months for some stupid generic map feature), but at this point we all know this game wasn't actually that good. As I previously said, had they released the Wii U version alongside the others, I might have bought it aboard the hype train, but now that I know it's nothing special I'm just not getting it.

I try to avoid absolutes and generalization, but it seems that not all people have an open actitude like you. It is perfectly fine to dismiss any game if you don't like it, or you don't have the money to get it, or you are not into it, the problem is that some people are doing it for the wrong reasons.

If you are interested in Project Cars that is great and getting it for the Wii U (even if delayed) is a great way to support the developer and publisher, that for example is a title that I am not interested since I am really not a fan of sim racers, I have not discarded completly but at first look is not my cup of tea.

The cause of the delay is not related with a map feature, and people still are getting confused about it, it was purely a bussiness decision that stopped the Wii U development for 5 months to avoid delaying the other versions even more. Is it is unfair? sure! but if you were the president of the company, trying to make the best out of your resouces you would have to agree that it was the right one, the hype train would have helped but not double or triple the sales, and additionally you have to remember that the decision was made just after the poor sales of Black Flag for the console, when X1 and PS4 crushed the ones on Wii U even though those consoles did not had ANY user base at the moment and Wii U did.

Those games got punished as well as they recieved less sales they could of so your point? Consumers have a right to whine and complain it's their money if you don't handle things consistently expect them to not give you the returns you expect it's how business has always worked, wait until the markets they choose to focus on shifts or gets over saturated that's when things get interesting and they realize why hitting all markets is actually key. Cock ups happen all the time the difference is how each person conducts themselves when they happen, act like the consumer owes you something during your mistake and you get little sympathy while if you're more humble they're more likely to be forgiving, gaming is the industry that's more cocky which is a suicidal attitude as far as business goes.

Watch Dogs is actually a very good game. You should get it if you're into open-world games.
