The second one only comes with GT5 prologue? What a rip-off, the other pack is sooo much better. A partial game vs. 3 BR movies, hmmm... It would be better to just buy GT5P separately if you really wanted it.

Zavvi.co.uk store has a similar Blu-Ray movie deal with the 40GB and Spider-man 3, Bond and ...something else (i forget) but it's more expensive as currently in the UK there is no official bundle just shops bundles.

A GT5Prologue bundle would be a good move un UK as well at £300, now if it only had Dual Shock 3 as well.

I remember someone saying that without one of the PS2 chips it can't do software emulation... or something.

the american and japanese 60gb and 20gb ps3's had the ee chip and the gs chip from the ps2 so it was full hardware emulation. the PAL ps3's only had the gs chip, so it was part hardware part software, the 40gb ps3 have neither, so it cant emulate in it's current state. it's not 'imposssible' to do full software emulation with the 40gb, but we don't know what the cell can do all by itself.

Just because people have them on dvd doesn't mean they don't want them on blu-ray.  I've been rebuying my entire dvd collection as they come out on blu-ray because of the VAST quality difference.  And yes, I've seen upscaled dvd's (I have an upscaling dvd player)....the audio doesn't compare and it doesn't compare visually either.  I'm sort of a visual/graphics/audio whore. (I realize not everyone else is, I'm just saying the blu-ray pack will appeal to people like me).

After I rebuy the movie on blu-ray, I sell my dvd on ebay for $4 or so.  I don't want my movie collection to be second rate quality--that's what dvd is.  Once you go HD, you'll never be able to watch a standard dvd again--they suck.  (In fact, I've not watched a regular dvd since just after I bought my ps3 at American launch--seriously).

It's the same as when I switched from VHS to DVD.  I gradually got rid of all my vhs tapes and replaced them with DVD's and now those same dvd's are being replaced by blu-rays.  Out with the old, and in with the new.

^ I would consider the step up from VHS to DVD a bigger step than the step from DVD to HD... and I still own VHS and watch them (though I don't have a VHS player anymore). Not everyone is going to upgrade their entire collection, because not everyone is going to think that DVD is second rate quality. Many people are happy with DVD, and it'll probably stay that way for a while.

Edit: And how many bundles can Sony come out with each year? 

The movie pack is so much a better deal. Of course I'm a bit biased because I don't care that much about GT but even so, it's not a full game! I would rather have 3 (full ) movies insteed.

God Sony will soon average 90-100 thousand a week once these bundles are released.
