A quick check on metacritic can easilty show a general view on how games are received. And just before Destiny reviews come in wanted to check how the current state is for the PS4. 

Currently the PS4 has 5 games that have reached a metacritic score of 90 or higher. However these are all games that have been released on other platforms before. And everyone probably knows which game is on top. If people think that this says something about the generation then they are right. But not in the way they think it does. I'll explain later. Let's take a look to the games that are just beneath the best of the gen. In the 80s range we can find 34 games. 

Know I wanted to know how this relates to the previous generation and wow, I'm shocked. I think that we're too spoiled lately that we can't appreciate the fact that the current gen has the best library in terms of launch. 

Let's compare with the PS3, Xbox 360 and One:

> The PS3 had as of 10 September 2007 only one game with a 90+ score which was The Elder Scrolls 4 and 28 games had scored a score in the 80s

> As of the 15th of September in 2006 the Xbox 360 had 3 games with an excellent metacritic score and 30 games with an 80-89 score. More in line with the launch of the PS4.

> The Xone has 1 game with a 90+ score, 15 games have score in the 80s. Certain multiplatform games trail 1-3 points behind the PS4 counterpart but that may be because of fewer scores and different judgement regarding the quality of the game.

> According to metacritic everything above a 75 is considered as a good game (nothing more nothing less). The amount the PS4 currently has is 56, the xbox 360 had 54 in more or less the same timeframe and the PS3 had 39 games with a good score. Shockinly the Xbox One only has 28 games with a good score. And even though a couple games like Metro haven't received an review update yet, the number would still be significantly lower than the PS3 release.

Conclusion: PS4 doing great, Xbox 360 did amazing back then, I could understand where the "PS3 has no gamez comes from", Xbox One is a bit sad.

But, I have one simple (impossible) request: Could you remove games that are either cross-gen or mere remasters/remakes from everything on your list? It would be nice to see what would happen.

Indie games tend to be rated well. But congrats to the ps4

Nobody is interested in this garbage table because everyone with half a brain knows that most of PS4's high rated games are ports from PS3 or one of a long list of indie titles. Now why don't you do a comparison of their triple AAA releases?

PS4 goes from 5 games to 0.

TLOU, flower, diablo III, fez and Rayman legends.

Also Xbox One goes to Zero, that's why the actual games are more important than numbers. 

They both suck atm IMO

Many people aren't excited even if PS4 has already many games with great scores because most of them are indies or games also available on last gen. Same with XBO which also lacks games which are really considered worth to buy a console for. 

That doesn't mean that indies can't be good but it's also not so hard to understand that 10 dollar indie games get scores which they wouldn't get if they would be full price and with that they are also not comparable with full price titles. They get the "cheap price bonus" when they get reviewed. 

But most people buy a console for these full price titles and play indie games only from time to time. If PS4 would only get indie games Sony would have sold maybe 1m consoles yet. If it would get only full price titles Sony would still be at maybe 8-9m with PS4.

So please people who open these threads all the time, don't act as if every game has the same importance even if it is a 99 cent game which will get a Meta of 99. This game would probably get a Meta of 30 if it would cost 60 bucks (because of  a playtime of one hour or whatever) and if a game like Infamous would cost only 5 bucks it would probably have a Meta of 100 and not 80^^

Or do yo really want to tell someone in real life "you need a  PS4 it  will blow you away with games like Towerfall and Rogue Legacy"? 

If PS4 would already have Uncharted 4 , GT7 and God of War + a few games like Asscreed and all with a 90 Meta and XBO or Wii U would have none of them but 30 different smaller 90 Meta indie games, people would laugh hard about the XBO and Wii U games and everyone would buy a PS4 (and absolutely deserved)
