Aonuma: Zelda U’s Cut-Scenes Will Not Disappoint

In a recent interview, Eiji Aonuma, the director of Zelda, revealed that he does not want to let fans down with the cut-scenes in The Legend of Zelda for Wii U. Aonuma has made it his personal mission to make stellar cut-scenes in the game.

“Looking at the comments on Miiverse regarding Hyrule Warriors, it’s been great to see a lot of positive feedback. But one of the things that leaves me with rather complicated feelings is that people are saying, “Oh wow, I really love the cutscenes in this game! This is better than the stuff Nintendo does!” Of course, that leaves me a little conflicted, and gives me a mission now to make sure that the new Zelda game that I’m working on can hold its own in that aspect against Hyrule Warriors!”

Do you like a good story in Zelda, or would you prefer more of a silent adventure? Make sure to share your thoughts below!

Oh, I am playing the NES Zelda game right now and it is awesome: there is something very Demon´s Souls about it, the sense of loneliness and wonder, the vast dangerous world exploration.

I think the newer Zeldas are too flamboyant and kiddy, the first game, raw as it was, was very hardcore and dark.

They should go down that road again someday.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I love how they listen to feedback.

The Hyrule Warriors cutscenes are so jarring having excellent renderings, but no voice acting. Hopefully Aonuma adds voice acting for Zelda U.

Awesome, getting more and more hyped for this game

Lol. I love a couple good cutscenes and a good story is very welcome of course, but I agree they should stick a bit to the side of the NES Zelda in it's open world style.

For the record though, I think the cutscene in the Lanayru Spring in Twilight Princess is one of the best cutscenes in gaming ever, so Nintendo does know how to do it right.

The best thing about this is however, that Miiverse continues to prove itself as a way to reach developers, and developers like Aonuma actually seem to follow what's on there and listen to.

Well, i guess voice acting is not neccessary. It would be awkward just like Zelda on Philips CD-i.

DINNER!!

Nice! I'm hopeful that Nintendo won't disappoint with Zelda U!

I'm more psyched for this game, can't wait.

I hope he doesn't. If you can convey emotion wihout voice you are truely a master and Nintendo time and time again has a done this in multiple franchises.

I would hate for my traditional Legend of Zelda experience to be ruined by voice actors.
