lol I feel sick reading that excuse.
Its not even that they fear making a loss which is highly unlikely given the series history of selling at least 200k in NA/EU. They're just not interested in anything which won't offer big returns.

Um, ok how is that text translation excuse valid for DQ VII? I'm at the moment playing the PS1 version of that game, which was officially released by Enix outside of Japan. How much extra text have they supposedly added to the 3DS remake of this, that the translation would be such a huge ordeal?
Change the title to "Square Enix want to alienate the last group of gamers who will call them on their shit" and we have a winner.
WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3
Nintendo had to publish IX basically as well. They must not be interested.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

LOL!
I'm on it.
And seriously, if NISA can localiza TONS of niche games in english (same as atlus, XSEED, etc...), who will believe this crap ?
They don't have money ? It's not worth it ?
Oh please, STFU.

DQs popularity is the main reason they don't want to bring it over. It may be profitable in the end, but i'm assuming their logic is why waste resources on that when they can have employees do something else with a higher return.
Then again FFXV has been in development for 8 years so what do I know?
C'mon! Please SE! Ive been waiting forever to play this game v.v I want this version! Not the PS1 version v~v Such a terrible company... its a main series and its not coming here? Might as well give up on 11 too...

In terms of scenario and script, the game is probably one of the largest in the DQ franchise. If a lot of people can buy it and support it… well, we can’t promise anything. |
Someone needs to start a special translation "studio" dedicated to performing translations of various games, with payment coming as a cut of sales rather than any preset amount... with the "studio" being a somewhat loose term here. Basically, a "studio" that raises fan translation efforts into an "official" system. The "fan translations" would be offered to developers and publishers to assist them in localising titles that otherwise wouldn't get localised due to translation issues.
Basically, crowdsourcing rather than crowdfunding.
