I find simulators extremely boring. I enjoy arcadey racers like Burnout, Need for Speed, Mario Kart, Midnight Club etc. especially like them when open world but as a genre overall i can only play them occasionally as i take or leave a racing since GTA games have their fair share of them

I might give the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2 a try because I heard it is open world and the graphics look amazing!

 

I feel like the genre isn't really improving at all. The only racing franchise I would even think about playing is Forza (but not at full price).

 

I am a huge fan of open world/action/adventure/3rd person shooter type of games. Do you guys like racing games??


I loved GT3 and GT4, always loved Mario Kart (though it will drive me up a wall due to luck being the #1 factor in winning) but my favorite type of racing is arcade racers like Ridge Racer and Road Rash.

There are some budget games like Big Rigs who are released, for whatever reason, as unfinished alpha glitch fests. If you've ever played some of these... games... you'd know how hate for a video game can exist.

My favorite racers are from the Sega Saturn and PlayStation. Daytona USA, Sega Rally, Hi Octane, RollCage, WipeOut, Destruction Derby. Those were the days. :)

Enjoyable every now and again. Never liked GT or Need For Speed, but I enjoy the Colin Mcrae Rally game that came with my PS1.

PGR 2 and Need For Speed Underground changed all that though. Amazing racing games, two of the best IMO. Last gen, it was only really Forza 4 and Forza Horizon that blew me away.

I loved the classic NFS:most wanted but after that i didn't even played any racing games, gonna get DC for sure and in general it depends on the game.

I think they're cool. I really enjoyed Dirt 2 and NFS Most Wanted Wii U Ed. I haven't played a proper sim in a while but I'm getting Project CARS on PC this holiday.



I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime. 

The NX will be a 900p machine

Simulation racers, actually simulation anything sans SimCity, really, are as boring as watching beige paint dry.

Mario Kart on the other hand, is wonderful. I even enjoy the other mediocre cartoon/arcade racing games out there.

I liked games like F-Zero and Wipeout, but never got into Gran Turismo.
