I still don't agree with that. If it's bad for Microsoft to do, it's also bad that Sony is doing it. Just because Microsoft is notorious for doing it doesn't make it acceptable when your favored company does it.
And, as far as I've heard, Sony has exclusive publishing rights for Destiny in Japan, but no one is getting their pitchforks sharpened over it. They're too busy hating on Microsoft for the Tomb Raider debacle. Both are ultimately bad for the consumer and the only ones 'winning' are Sony and Microsoft.

You're not getting what he is saying. Both companies doing it is wrong but Sony didn't take the mick out of MS for advertising CoD all the time on Xbox only.
And Destiny being translated for Xbox in Japan just wouldn't be worth it financially for Activision. Neither Sony or MS are winning in the TR case.

I understand his point. But I'm not arguing that Microsoft getting it comuppance isn't deserved or that they, themselves, are being hypocrites (they are); rather that so are the people who mock them for this. They are more interested in bashing Microsoft that they don't acknowledge that Sony is doing the exact same thing that they've decried Micosoft for doing in the past. Sony shouldn't get away with it just because Microsoft has a worse record and people want to see them get screwed over too.
And that isn't justification, and we don't know how things would have gone down had Sony not had exclusive publishing rights. Anyone in Japan who DID buy an Xbone is likely a fan of western shooters, and Sony just snatched away one of the biggest. The consumer is the one who loses.
Edit: For clarity, the thing I 'didn't agree with' in my previous was that the hypocrisy was only coming from Microsoft. I feel some of the forum go-ers were displaying hypocrisy in this situation as well due to the bias in favor of Sony.
