Forums - Sales - Xbox One is Closing the Gap Homie

For any of this to come true, X1 will need to sell 180k or 6000 every single day of September. In August, they sold about 1800 a day...

um what?? in august Xbox One sold over 200k or almost 7,000 units a day...

I read many times that people prefer to get the wii u as 2nd console rather than the x1. But here in Singapore, wiiu is practically dead. While xbox community is still alive.

To me, i'd buy an x1 before a wiiu. It doesn't matter most of the multiplats i'd get for my ps4. Xbox exclusives are more interesting to me than the wiiu. And so do most Singaporeans.

Imo, x1 will surpass wiiu by year end.

“Ore no... Kachi da!”

1.8 millions more sales for the XOne within 4 months means 450K more a month, which means 120K more a week. Which means the Wii U has to stop selling, and the XBox has to increase its sales by 140% (x2.4) right now and for the 4 months to come. I say that's a fanboy dream and that even the low probability of an increased gap is higher than that.

It will never close the gap people will need to stop buying ps4 all together for the x1 to catch it lol

For some reason I get this feeling that you read the title and skipped to making a post...

I doubt he was the only one who misinterpreted which gap "homie" was referring to.

Somehow a thread about the battle for runner up doesn't quite have the same click bait appeal.

With regards to the Wii U/XBO sales performances, the holidays should be interesting regardless.

Either the XBO manages to start its turnaround on the basis of a growing software library with the bolstering of additional relevant exclusives as well as relevant third party multi platform titles that aren't coming to the Wii U, leaving Nintendo's future in the console space in doubt (Wii U/Nintendo is Domed threads to follow), or the Wii U will pick up a significant percentage of its overall annual sales over the holiday season as Nintendo's hardware always does, more so than SCE or MS does typically.

If that trend changes significantly (still should see brisk 3DS sales regardless of console sales), then the future of the Wii U is something that really needs to be reconsidered unless Nintendo is content to let it be another Game Cube.

The Sales rise a lot going from Sep to Dec... so the 500k montlhy in average is possible, but that above WiiU is insane dream from Toastie.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Hahaha. Nice one. I think you guys are underestimating Nintendo and OP is surely overestimating Xbone. Wii U has Smash and Amiibo coming this year - both will be big time hits for Nintendo (and there's also Bayo2). On the other hand Xbone won't really take off until the MCC. There is nothing to ignite sales before that. Multiplats? Cool, but they are better on PS4 and we all know that. You bank on Destiny? Well how big of an impact did Watchdogs have on Xbone? Prepare for a repeat of that. With the way Destiny is marketed, it looks like a PS4 exclusive.

Oh, and I really enjoyed this:
"Fifa + Fifa bundles gonna be huge!"

Ahahahaha!! Wonder among who. The Americans, who don't know what football is, or the Europeans, who don't know what Xbone is? MS paying for exclusive FIFA content is even more stupid than buying exclusive jRPGs.

Xbone is in a cursed place. Even if it's much better than Wii U, it may do worse, because it's worse than PS4, while Wii U is different, isn't competing with these two, so neither is stealing its sales.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I really dont get why is so dificult to undestand this. Its like you tell it to people and they just asume you are a hater and disregard everything you say. Nothing this year  or early next year points to an x1 recovery, while nintendo already started its recovery with mario kart, slowly, but with more titles exclusives on the horizon it will get there. The x1 needs to depend less on multyplats and bring out more worthwhile exclusives, wich I dont see happening untill late next year.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Sometimes I amaze myself. How did I know this was a Toastboy thread before even entering this thread?

OOps!  Got the weekly and monthly switched up.  WiiU selling 220k monthly now. X1 would need to sell 720k to close the gap by 500k in Sept. 720k divided by 30 days is 24,000 a day.  It would be possible I guess, but only if they give a PS4 free with every X1 purchased...
