Forums - Nintendo - Brainstorm: Amiibo House!

So I really think this could be a cool idea, if implemented correctly.  I'd like to see Nintendo not only release the Amiibo toys, but accesories for them as well.  Particularly, an Amiibo House.  I'd like this house to obviously be Nintendo themed.  You could make Peach's Castle, the final scene from Metroid (Mother Brain), Hyrule Castle, a giant Pokeball that opens, etc.  The houses would open and allow you to store your figurines inside.  I'd think they'd retail for 39.99-49.99 and could include powered technology as well, allowing the houses to read simple stats from each character.

Vehicles would also be pretty cool.  Samus' ship, the Arwing, the Blue Falcon, etc.  These would just house 1-3 figurines.  Placing your figurine inside would initatiate sound effects from those games, and would maybe even change as your levelled up your figurine.

So...any takers on this?  Would you buy one?  Do you think it would help Nintendo's bottom line?

Neat idea for collectors, but doubt the average consumer would care whether or not their amiibo's are in a safe house or in a plastic bin.

Nintendo is going to milk the f**k out of this plastic toy idea for the next 3-4 years minimum. I don't think you have anything to worry about, you'll get all that and more. If it *really* takes off they may become as much of a toy company as they are a game company.

Neh.. Nintendo should join the lego universe.. Together they could have conquered the world.. But alone.. Extremly hard.. Making Amiibos itself already the thing to buy for christmas will already be a difficult challenge.. Let alone having entire playsets..

Maybe LEGO is the long term competitor for Nintendo, I've kinda thought of that, but if amiibo is a big hit and Nintendo starts becoming more and more of a toy/licensing company ...

Heck, I could see a "Nintendo movie" in the similar vein as the "LEGO movie" which was a big, big hit (although Disney is already kinda aping this idea with Wreck It Ralph).

That is very good and succesful!

The toys and games will help sell eachother and the QOL (health and fitness market) could be succesful to allow Nintendo to be in 3 very succesful markets for them. Expansion!!!!

It could work if they were actually toys and you could move their parts, like a LEGo figure.
But, i wouldn`t mind seeing a figurine with Link riding Epona or Mario smashing a Goomba or Samus in the ship, instead of just the individual characters.

Also, releasing figurines of a character based on the games he or she have been in would be a really cool idea.
Like, a Mario or Link 8-bit style!

If LEGO is the blue print for future Nintendo then I think its time for Nintendo to look at the theme park business in a more serious way. But probably not going in alone ... too risky.

Partnering with say Six Flags or Universal or (gulp) Disney to make a "Nintendo World" area would be cool too.

It's time for movies and theme parks and the whole six yards. Relying on the volatile gaming market alone has become too shaky of a business.

Something I may have not made clear is the NFC capabilities that the houses and vehicles would have. This could be a completely new space for any company. Obviously I don't know the inner workings of the technology, nor how costly it is, but the potential for creating interactive, physical representations for your virtual successes could be really cool.

Hmmm.. you want then like what? that if you have a starwing with a mario figure you could play a minigame with Mario in a Starwing on your 3DS? That would be cool..

*you have my number Nintendo if you want to use this idea
