What killed Lair was the control, it's not broken, it's just horribly crippled. (lol), If you have the time to learn it, like poor souls who bought the game, you will eventually get it, but reviewers bashed it to no-end and that's why most people didn't even buy this game.

Excite Trucks doesn't have sharp turns like Mario Kart, and that's where I think Wiiwheel is likely to fail.

P.S. power-slide (AKA Snaking) isn't an advantage, it's cheating due to a miscalculating on Nintendo's part. I'm glad they were able to correct that in MK for Wii.

well like i said, if the wii wheel controls are a complete hindrance i'll ditch them but i have faith that nintendo won't release the game until they are perfected, i mean this is kind of a show case title for the wii racing genre.  i guess we'll have to wait until the reviews come in to find out. ...and i thought snaking in MKwii was confirmed?

Wii Wheel of course. And I'll beat the crap out of you all using it ;>

Well, IGN podcast said it's not there anymore. who knows. I won't play online if it's there, people cheat and I hate that.

Still doesn't change the fact that using the tilt of the remote is not less accurate than a stick... you could argue that because it's wireless the response time is a couple of hundredths of a second slower or something, but as long as you anchor your arms (rest your elbows) the accuracy is perfect.

You might wanna add MK:DD to your profile.

I am too lazy to add every game I played into my profile. also, I don't own the game and console anymore, Sold it when I bought my PS3 via trade-in.

I'm willing to give the Wiiwheel a try, like most people here, but if it's the only reason showing me down, I'm ditching it.

Ahh ok... I just use a different system; I have all the games I have owned on my profile... the ones I still own are about half my N64 games, all but three of GC games and all the Wii games.

I will also try all of them probably, but I doubt I will be using GC controller much because I can get the same thing from remote+nunchuck and it's too much of a hassle plugging it in compared to turning on with the remote etc. (as long as the game I want is already in, I don't have to go near the Wii to play because I keep a remote and nunchuck in a drawer by my bed)

Also snaking is only a problem if you can use it to go faster on the straights.

Psh, it's the Wii! Go tilt or go play GT. ;P

Frankly, I want to use the wheel. The entheusiast press has been on a crusade against it, for god only knows why, but apparently someone told them to hate on it and had a convincing argument. Looks cool to me, and seems like it would enhance the experience, plus its a nice novelty and I don't see how it could hurt anything.

The biggest hater is kotaku, but honestly, the beta testers say the wheel is the best and since they have spent a million more hours with the game than the next closest reviewer, I trust their opinions.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Kingofwale have you played a mariokart game before?... It doesn't need precision in controls just like none of te past games had precise controls... hell in MK64 it didn't even feel like you were controlling the car you were looking at.
(And the only reason the wii remote tilt isn't as precise as the stick is because people can't keep their arms still... if you play sat on a bed like me with elbows supported it is just as precise as a stick)

Have I? I used emulation for N64 for Mario Kart, which made me buy GC for just one game, MK DD, I spent probably over 200 hours in each iteration.

I will go as far as buying a console for MK. So yes, I think I've palyed Mario Kart before.

It's true that precision isn't a 'must' to beat the game, but if you have friends who MASTER MK and you are playing vs them. every friction of second counts.

You're correct, and in this itteration you can turn all powerups off just for pvp.

That said, the Wii-Wheel could be precise enough, you never know. It could even have advantages. We won't know till we've had the game for 5 or 6 months, just like we won't know the Brawl tier list for another year or so.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I'd be great if Nintendo released an actual wheel with Force Feedback. Instead we get a snap on piece of plastic.

EMULATION is the past.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

funny trend here. VGC newbies tend to want to use the Wheel, while VGC oldies tend to want to use GC controller

As for me, if the game is good and I will get a Wii for it. GC controller for me and Wii wheel for whoever playing against me offline. :)

Many of the people saying Wheel or Wiimote have more posts than you
