I can't help but notice that there only seems to be 3D 1080p Sony TVs, but all of their 2D 1080p TVs seem to be gone for good.
So has Sony discontinue all of their 2D TVs, even though they had earlier said that their where going to do the opposite?

Everyone seems to think 3D is about to disapear, but that is not true. It will simply remain as a feature built into most TV's. It was never meant to be the main focus of the set (That was marketing).
i havent see a 2D tvs in the last 12months. Everything on the shelves offers 3D. maybe ill ask for the back stock to see if they got any.
ah the old 2d or not 2d - isn't that the real question? the answer of course - is no!!!
i'd love 3d games to come back as i still play potorstorm whatevwer it was in 3d and trine 2 (ps4) in 3d. Give me a new 3d silent hill that'd be class.

If you love 3D games, then you should get the 3DS, there's Resident Evil & Kid Icarus uprising & many other titles. You should check out the list of 3DS games to see how many titles there are, that you would like to get in stereoscopic 3D, plus e frame rate stays at 60 fps like th PS4/X1/Wii U consoles do when doing 3D.
The problem is that Sony & Microsoft was only doing 3D when Nintendo didn't do it, but then Nintendo made the Nintendo 3DS which plays all 3DS games in Glasses-Free 3D (excluding a couple of games) and that discourage Somy & Microsoft from backing up 3D anymore.
Hopefully Sony & Microsoft & Nintendo will start having a lot more 3D capable games for Home Consoles. Nintendo said 3rd parties can do it for Wii U if they want to, and I'm assuming that may be the same case with PS4 & X1. Nintendo said they will make their 1st Wii U games 3D when enough people own a 3D TV, so good thing everyone is discontinuing 2D TVs of all kind in the next few years. I don't know about the 1st party PlayStation & Xbox games, but I think what has happen is that they got discourage from cornering the 3D games market from Nintendo doing a way more better job at it with the Nintendo 3DS & 3DS XL.

They still sell them.. But sony is probably gonna push 4k tvs the next years so i won't be surprised if they went with only 1 model with different sizes the next years for HD tvs.. The HD generation has been lost to Samsung and others

4K, I'm going to be such a late adopter for that. Samsung took the flatscreen design by force, they were one of the few to initially have the flat connections on the back. But the Sony TV I got was great deal for its price, the stand it came with could even be used as the wall support. Smart design! Good SD scalling and better in-built sound.
