Forums - Nintendo - I think Hyrule Warriors will do good in America

I think it'll sell better here than it did in Japan merely because the Zelda brand is much, much stronger over in the West. We'll see though.

Yep I'm pretty sure it can break 100k FW, simply because it has Link on the cover.

You could be right, but there were a lot of people that were confident it would hit 100k in Japan first week simply because it was a musou game.

I think it'll do well. Should easily double Japanese lifetime sales.

I thought superman does good, you're doing well.

Anyway, I think it'll do alright in the us but not in Europe. Just because of the zelda name.

I think most sensible people were actually not surprised by the sales of Japan's FW. For one the musou fanbase isn't on WiiU, they are on PS3; for two its a brand that isn't actually all that popular there (Zelda). I don't even think Nintendo/Koei expected all that much considering the shipment numbers. Its also a real conundrum on the digital side since the game was ~10$ (after conversion) cheaper to buy... which was widely advertized and known for the audience over there.

We're going to need to wait on Famitsu's digital numbers for August but I would suspect they will be "high" (relatively speaking).

I look forward to picking up my copy

There is always a chance ;)

I've been waiting for someone to point this out. Glad to see I'm not the only one here nitpicky about these things.

Putting my inner grammar Nazi aside, I think it has potential to do well...but I'm tempering my expectations. I think if it gets some decent promotion leading up to launch, it can do well. N.A. tends to be more receptive to the Zelda franchise than other regions, and this is like the ultimate Zelda fanservice game. Free Ganondorf and Skyward Sword costumes won me over, just advertise that!

I don't know how well it will do for the FW, but I'm hoping for the best but expecting just average sales. When I get the money I'll be buying me a copy of the game only because it actually looks fun to me. I'm not too big of a Zelda fan so that's definitely not a selling point for me.
