ioi made very clear he thought his #'s for USA, Europe, and Japan were pretty close to spot on. He still needed to find out where exactly the "other" sales were. He can't just "dump" numbers in there, as you say, otherwise it may be even further off for those who are getting detailed data by country (Pro users).

So I'd say they found a reasonable allocation for a majority (not all) of the missing sales.


but GFK proved that ioi's numbers weren't spot on for Europe at all.

Hmmm, I thought he specifically said he would not do that.  Hard for me to believe all 500K were outside NA, EU and JP.

We know they weren't. Germany was still undertracked last I checked (yet ioi claimed it was the same as from official trackers, clearly wrong)

At this rate I would be surprised if the PS4 won't exceed 15 million. 4 months to make 5 million sales during the busiest sales period with a ton of games being released.

He indicated that between all of the regions, it was pretty darn close (i.e. if Europe was undertracked by 100k, US was overtracked by 100k). As such, it would only make sense that the "missing" sales would be allocated to the rest of the world, because the major regions weren't significantly off.
