I remember reading somewhere (or looking at a youtube vid, honestly don't remember) that he would take one thing form Hyrule Warriors and some speculated that he could take the way many events occurs at the same time.

For example, Gorons in Death Mountain are kidnapped while the Zoras in their domains are under the ice. Both at the same time. Now it's up to you to choose where to go first, and depending on your choice the story will be different.

I want to believe I understand his concept, but until we see in motion it will be hard for us.

He was talking about gameplay, not story. Two things happen simultaniously in regards to whose being attacked, and you have to manage where to go. It's effectively tower defense. He's thinking of incorperating those elements into Zelda, as they are non-existant as is.

Aonuma: "We had to design small bounded areas with defined entrance and exit. And putting them togeather made you feel like playing in a large world. But you still couldnt cut through the boundries where ever you like to explore that world." + With Wind waker gameplay at background. These are not my words.

Aonuma: I think the most open-world Zelda we've had so far has been Wind Waker, just because you were able to sail the ocean and go all over the islands. When creating a game, we look at what is the core, kernel gameplay. You try to construct the game around that, and making that core mechanic the easiest to access.

His words, not mine. We can do this all day.
