Okay, I'll reiterate my statement: It's the current maximum limit, but it may change depending on what the Chinese government decides. Doesn't change the fact that this isn't 5 million sold, it's only that they're allowef to sell 5 million.

They expect 50 million console sales for the next 5 years? Yeah, no, that won't happen. (Feel free to necrobump if I'm proven wrong)

Lol. I don't give a shit about the Chinese market. I'm even willing to blend it out completely and pretend it doesn't exist. But I know there are some people here that won't let me do it.

Well, I couldn't find a release date for the PS4  in china so I assumed Sony is gonna take their time. I don't expect major sales, but any amount of time that the XBO is out (especially in such a large region) ahead of the PS4 is bad news for SOny.

Thinking on it now though, those are 5 million sales lifetime in china and its gonna be a few years before it reaches that. XBO might catch up a bit but not get a ahead.

Of course it won't sell at all, pc is everything for gamers in china. And i don't even want to talk about the price, black market, regional lock.

It will better for the ps4 in china, but really, not much...

X1 could do well in China but we don't really know how it will perform. Just because China is a huge market, doesn't mean consoles will sell well there. India is a huge country as well but a small market for consoles. 

Yeah, the 5m units might never be reached. And if X1 has good sales there, then Sony will try hard to release earlier.

an expectation of 50M doesn't mean much when it is coming from BesTV, the guys trying to sell you the product.   ms expected to win this generation and strive for an "entertainment console" market 1 billion strong.   didn't happen.   don't make me pull out that chart of "analysts" expecations that ps3 would win last gen.
