Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft: Wii U Owners Don’t Buy Assassin’s Creed; More Interested in Just Dance

I bought AC:IV for my Wii U and I loved it. :)

I know... my English sucks.

Assassin creed games are lame anyway. I put AC 2 down after a couple hours. Just mindless button mashing fighting and lame story, I don't like the animus or w/e it's called. Yawn

Just make more Rayman games for the Wii U Ubisoft.

It's not like Rayman Legends did any better than AC on the U. Once again it seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy by Ubi to just discredit "mature" games on the U.

Well, according to VGC Wii U was the second console to sell more copies of Rayman Legends with 360k, just behind PS3 with 390k (despite the 80M user base). It sold poorly all around and Ubisoft can only blame themselfs for putting it together with GTA V, Pokemon and the november big hitters.

I also think Valiant Hearts had a place on Wii U.

But yea, we are not getting anymore AC, right or wrong.

Let's enjoy what we do have.

On a slightly unrealted note I bought Assassins Creed 4 for Wii U a couple days ago and I cannot get the sound working on it at all I have tried everything. Its also the buggiest game ever made. There is a reason we do not buy your garbage anymore Ubisoft.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot took the chance in a recent interview to explain why theWii U won’t be getting the next Assassin’s Creed game, and went on to say what they see Wii U owners are more interested in.

“It’s very simple. What we see is that Nintendo customers don’t buy Assassin’s Creed. Last year, we sold in very small numbers.”

“What we see is that they are very interested in Just Dance, very interested by other kinds of games. So what we are trying to do is to focus more on the types of games they are interested in.”

When asked about the Watch Dogs situation, Yves went on to say the following.

“[Watch Dogs] is coming to Wii U. It will be the only mature game we publish on it.”

That's what happens when you release a shit game like AC3 as the first AC game on Wii U. You are releasing the worst as the first offering to many and when it's crap people aren't going to go in for seconds. AC4 is decent enough, but still not a great game. The thing with Just Dance is that even if it's the enth release it's still mostly the same as the first just with different music so it's hard to screw up, kind of like guitar hero or rock band. Nintendo players tend to be social players as well, so it makes sense that the social game would be more successful, especially since in essence it really is the better game. I can't say it's a loss for the Wii U to not have AC whatever piece of crap to come out next that was more or less the same as the last that wasn't great either.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

I won't buy any more Ubisoft games their attitude about games is sales based instead of enriching experiences. To be blunt if they made decent software and didn't delay titles on the Wii U it wouldn't shot themselves in the foot when it comes to the wii u fan base. If they no one wants to buy a game when it's old news and not the good to begin with. Watchdogs was an alright title not much of a chance making it steller on the wii u and biz will probably be building for watchdogs 2 so who will care about the wii u version. So go ahead and chase money with your stupid unimaginable IPs, rayman exempted and I won't buy a single title on my PS3 or Xbox one.

Um, no.

It's not about just dance or other experiences, it's about games they like. ZombiU sold relatively well though maybe not the numbers Ubi was looking for.

Nintendo gamers buy certain types of games, and that may not necessarily mean Just Dance. A great recent example is Shovel Knight. Don't come and tell me that's like Just Dance Mr. Guillemot.

Exactly. A good game will sell well, a not so great game won't sell as well. It also doesn't help that they tend to F over the Nintendo gamers with F'ups like the Rayman fiasco.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

I have to sadly agree with him. But I do think it's a mistake by Ubisoft to skip the Wii U with one of the versions of AC. They have created a decent audience for this game on the Wii U and should try and keep it to hopefully build on it when the system sales start improving.

Only if they create non Shyte AC games. AC3 was garbage and AC4 was mediocre. Hard to build a hard core fan base from crap especially when there are high quality offerings.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

I remember when Just Dance was HUGE a few years ago. One time 2 girls brought a Wii to class and we played Just Dance all day. :P

Is Just Dance still very popular or is it declining?
