Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Shovel Knight Developer: “Wii U has a very high game attach rate.”

Great news.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I still have to buy this.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

This is what happens if you cater to what Nintendo fans want!

Now, if you excuse me, I'll hunt for some eShop cards...

It always had. For exclusives. Let's have a look at multiplat attach rates, shall we?

Why? If this is about exclusives then why talk about something that will not apply?

Nowhere in the article is anything mentioned about exclusives. He even talks about other platforms.

I was agreeing with him and then pointing out that the statement doesn't apply generally to all games on Nintendo platforms. He didn't specify exclusives or multiplat games. So the statement might be considered false, even though he was only talking about indie games.

Overall a very good interview that gave insights why they chose Nintendo, but also that it might not be the perfect match for everyone.

Huh. Guess you're right. Though I was under the impression indie games sold well on the console. Even multiplats. This was actually the first time I've heard of indie devs "leaving the console in droves" in fact.

Well, the article itself is bad. I don't know where they got this "the Nintendo gamer is fickle" from. Doesn't seem a lot of research has been going into this article before the interview.

I haven't bought it yet for Wii U but I will 100% buy this game eventually (probably soon). It looks amazing. Only hesitation is I have too lengthy of a backlog of games that need beating and then reviews. About to finish off the bonus content of Arkham Origins and then do my review of that game.

This studio has been very supportive to Nintendo. They also posted an awesome post about the development of indie games on their blog.

Wii U managed to have good share, even when against steam and 3ds

Lol at the damage control posts. Nice to see the game is doing well and people are still raving about it. I've been wanting the game since that epic trailer with the chorus. At the time it came out though, I was out of money, and I'm still out of money. Soon as I get the money on my account I'm getting this game.
