I also forgot to mention that the Gamepad and Kinect are unquestionably more hated than Morpheus.

 

 People exist who will ONLY consider buying a Wii U when there's no Gamepad, even when 3 other controllers exist for it.

Wii got a lot of hate and if looked at side by side ps3 compared to xb360 the ps3 sold more each year and not suprising ended the gen a hood 2-3 million ahead of 360.

Exclusives - There is bashing and over-hype on both sides. E.g. The Last of Us, which look barely any different and Halo MCC, a collection of games I can buy and play on my 360 right now, both over-hyped like mad.

Features - Share Play and PSnow are irrelevant. They won't do much in the grand scheme and are essentially gimmicks (PSnow is too expensive to be practical).

Hardware - First I heard of the PS4 wobble, I've actually heard more about XB1 being inferior.

Face it, the consoles are so similar, there's going to be fanboys. This is no different from American Muscle cars, Mustang's are by far the best, but there are going to be haters who get a Dodge/Chevy and have it break down on them.

Are you kidding? You're kidding, right?

The Xbox and Wii U and PC and a TON more flack than the PS4. Just read any resolution or frame rate comparison, or an exclusives thread -_-

Example comments-

"X1 is last gen!! 900p sucks!! 30fps is unplayable!!"

"Wii U can't even compete lol!!"

"PC gamer tears are delicious haha!! Master race can't get PS4 exclusives!!"

There are also many stupid comments calling out the PS4 for no reason, but those are relatively few and far between, in comparison.

I dont see Nintendo or MS getting so much hate. I dont see people complaining about games not being all AAA on Wii U , i see more people complaining of some lack of exclusives on PS4 than on X1( whereas the opposite would be a bit more logical)


You must be joking. Nintendo and MS get assloads of hate everywhere on the internet (including here). I'm really surprised at all the people saying that Sony gets just as much hate as the other companies. I completely and utterly disagree (especially MS. I've never seen a company hated on so much).



I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

to be fair every single one of the consoles has been criticized, the Wii u got a lot of hate, the X1 (well who didn't bashed or hated that console at least at some point?), and the PS4 has also gotten some negativity, but when i compare all of the the consoles the PS4 is the one that has gotten less hate...

and its mainly because the X1 and Wii U have had more controversial news in the recent "years" (more like months to be honest).

The difference is in the childish hate. For example, you will hear " lol indiestation " , stupid and far from the truth.

 

Whereas saying it's sad MS prefers to buy already existing games than creating game is legitimate, no hate, MS deserved a lot of this bad buzz.

They call it constructive criticsm, or hide behind the whole if you don't agree then you are a troll and bla bla bla, but I think I have noticed a couple of things.

  1. Look up any and every PS4 exclusive game that has been announced and released. Before the 5th-10th posts on most gaming forums it deteriotes into sony bashing or how the game sucks, is generic, looks boring, looks short(?), is a new IP so it wouldn't sell well, is just like *insert game name here* cause its in the same genre.   2. Then lets talk about features, sony announced share play and PSnow(which is still in beta). These are two features that at least if got right could be a game changer. Can't help but wonder what would happen if this were a service coming to xbox or nintendo.

  3. Then look at hardware, a much bigger deal is made about the PS4 wobbling when placed horizontally and how the touchpad is a useless addition than about how the XB1 is weaker, kinect needed to be taken out and is pretty much inessential to core gaming, or how even nintendo first party doesn't seem to know what to do with the wiiU screen. Look at the comments regarding morpheus ad then look at the comments regarding occulus rift. 

 

I am not saying that sony should get a free pass for every and anything, but I just think that everything sony seems to be met with more negativity than positivity. Is it that thre are just more non sony gamers on forums? Or the vocal minority that hate sony just seem to be doing a really really really good job of it?

I mean I am not a nintendo fan (anymore) or an xbox fan, but I have never been in a thread bashing a nintendo/xbox game. Any single one of them and thats not cause i Think they are all great, same applies to xbox games; I just know that not having or never playing those games puts me in the least position to have anything constructive to say about them). I do bash the xbox hardware, but not even in a sesne that its weak and should just die, but rather the policies at MS that made them go with hardware like that to begin with and I bash nintendo for how stubborn they have continually always been. But never the platforms directly or their games or features. But it seems some people make it there job hating on everything sony, almost as if it raped their kid sister, killed her and raped her again with a DS4.


That's a perfect example of subjective perception! Others get at least the same, if not even more hate, especially if you consider the fanbase partitioning here (or every other gaming forum I know of).

Talk about subjective perception lol.
