Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Comments On Lack of AAA Titles For PS4: "Perception Issue, 2015 Great For Core Players & More"

Who having a gen 7 and 8 would buy a cross-gen on last gen for the same price? Even if everything but pixels were the same the 8th gen would be the obvious choice unless your last gen is ps3 and you want to play mp for free (but if you like MP and have a ps4 sooner or latter you will have to sign ps+).

So yes just pc owners can complain about lack of exclusives (but then he is mandated to have all ninty consoles for the great exclusives, ps1,2,3 and X og and X360 because they all had great exclusives) if any of those system aren't owned cut the crap and just say those 1-4 games you like aint available yet.

I actually own all those systems, if you were referring to me. I also own all the current gen consoles, so yes, I have a pretty decent idea of what constitutes a lack of must-have exclusives.

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

The only thing holding me back from getting the PS4 is the lack of Exclusive "gotta have" games that I cannot already get on PC.

I want to know how many people bought 100+ AAA games last gen (average ratio is 10) to few 6-8 games in 9 months is too few. Have they all bought all the AAA released already? Or are they rental leechers that pick 2 games per week with 0 return to dev and then complain there aint enough games.
Also don't forget in 2013 or late 12 Sony released TLOU, GoW:A, B2S,Sly,GT6,Tearaway and Puppeteer. And now devs are in cycle.

Again I have no idea why there are still arguments going on back and forth. For the amount of time the console has been on the market it has MORE than enough games to play. Now if those games do not appeal to you that is fine and there is no argument there. But just make it clear that the games you prefer are not out yet and then there would be no confusion or arguments!!! EASY!!!

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

No I wasn't because I know you and Jizz altough not Sony fanboys appreciate several sony games) from the 3 I think you are more pro Sony and Jizz pro ninty). Was talking in general because of pretenders. You have all the right to say KZ, Knack and ISS don't justify your purchase or of other PC gamers even more if the 3 exclusives aint your cup of tea. But to say that there is a drought in an ample manner for all gamers is inacurate.

I think you missed my point. Yes PS4 had watchdogs but this was a list by most recent big releases and PS4 had TLOU a couple weeks ago so that's newer than watchdogs. The "PS4 is the one lacking big games" was sarcasm.

Technically, The Last of Us isn't newer.

The people bitching about PS4 having no games have already played games like The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Injustice, Diablo 3, Metro, many of the indie games, etc, etc, long before the PS4s release or before they were released on the PS4.

Just because someone may not have played it on when it was first released doesn't give it a free pass because there are many people who have played it and want something new.  Right now there are way too many games that are being ported over, too many indie games that we could have already played if we wanted to being ported over, and very few actual new games that we can play.

Actual sales numbers of "The Last of Us: Remastered" invalidates that argument.  It actually sold MORE than the PS3 version.  I am also planning on picking up Diablo 3 and Metro...ESPECIALLY since a lot of the bugs in Metro were fixed.  Just because YOU have "nothing to play" does NOT mean that others wont be happy with the same exact offerings.

Dont worry. It is similar to what the music industry dealt with. You have "indie" bands. I have more fun seeing bands like Broken Bells (indie rock right the same as child of Light is Indie), New Pornographers, St. Vincent, The National, Black Rebel Motorcycle club, Kurt Vile etc. Bands labeled "indie" only because they arent stadium rock and play smaller venues they are perceived as "less" the same as indie games are perceived as "less". Then bands like Arcade fire (like minecraft) come out and transcend indie and arena rock, rare but standouts.

Eventually, just like the music industry, we will have high quality "indie" games on smaller budgets (smaller venues) where people who "get it" will have way more fun than the bozos seeing coldplay and nickelback in arenas. Where the same as indie bands are actually signed or touring on the back of large company subsidiaries via WB or BMI, "indie" games are going to be funded and held afloat to be profitable by larger companies.

Just like music, "indie" games and "indie" concerts can be just as long and are in my opinion more enjoyable than AAA and stadium rock. You get more concerts (games) and dont have to whine and complain for the one show a year because you only want to see U2, Nickelback, coldplay or Kings of Leon.

Open up, enjoy games and stop being stupid.

Exactly. I played both Diablo 3 and Last of Us last year and was plenty excited to get improved versions with extra content on PS4. And even though I owned a 360 and PS3 I never played Injustice until I got it on PS4.

I think bottom line here is people are going to bitch no matter what. And most of these anti-Sony arguments are automatically assuming the worst case scenarios as the only scenarios. Clearly 10 million people wouldn't buy a PS4 if they had no desire to play any of its games.

He said it. So many high profile AAA games in the first year. More than in any other generation. And it's getting even more in the second year.

Everyone pretending that this is a bad launch year has a very bad or very selective memory.

Pretty much this. The PS4's 1st year (and X1's) have been pretty poor by general standards, but as far as launch years go they've hit the gold standard.

If we see a similar number of major titles release in 2015 as 2014, then we can all start bitching.
