I'm just fed up with all the NES games I don't care about. There's a handful of SNES titles on there too, most of which I couldn't care less about either, but hey, that's fine. Still: where are the N64 games? Wii had them (albeit only a few), so what gives? They could certainly use them. Let alone GameCube games - I am convinced we'll never see those on Wii U's eShop, ever.

Until I see N64 and morw old Sega for Wii U Vc, and SNES plus GBA for 3ds VC, I won't be happy with just the discounts.

They really need to bring the SNES/GBA games to the 3DS. Really, is it too much to ask for Super Metroid and Zero Mission on the go? ):

Thst's what bugs the crap out of me when it comes to the VC. I personally couldn't care less about most NES games, it was before my time and I find a lot of them very archaic these days. SNES & N64 however, some of my favorite games of all time are on those platforms. Its also frustrating to see Japan get stuff like Final Fantasy IV & VI, Secret of Mana, etc. years ahead while Nintendo of Europe & America seem to be content giving us a single NES game a week.

They need to be taking bigger steps more frequently, and for me that means more frequent VC releases. Hire some more emulation teams like M2 to get more VC games on the console. Also, get to work on N64/DS games, and Sega needs to put Dreamcast games there.

But what they've got going is a start at least.

Yeah because 4.99 is so expensive for NES VC games on a FREE online service, when they were 29.99 at the point of release in the 80's.

The NES titles are usually $6.50 here, and yes I am very tight with my purchases. I simply mean the discounts have pushed me into buying some things.

Maybe Nintendo plan to upload all the NES games they want first and get them out of the way before they move onto SNES and above..... yeah sounds stupid but I wouldnt put it past how Nintendo think.

Atlus does eShop right. Same day release, with demo, manuals and save-data backup. Topping all that is the occasional sales that will see titles like SMT IV or EO IV or Code of Princess at $15.

Nintendo is learning from Atlus.

Agreed for the most part, Nintendo needs to take a page from the Steam playbook and go nuts with the discounts. They are esentially making pure profit on digital sales so they might as well. And I can only speak for myself, but this probably applies to many, but the main reason I buy digital basically boils down to 1. convenience, and 2. cheaper price. Nintendo's eshop games tend to be the same price as the retail hard copies, so why should I spend the same amount on a digital copy of a game, that I can never sell back, when I can buy a tangible product that I CAN eventually sell back and make some of my money back on?

It's good to see they are starting to cut prices of the digital versions of some of their games, but they've got a ways to go yet. We also need to see a unified account system so you can simply buy the game once and play it on ALL future Nintendo devices. These two things would give me incentive to buy a lot more digital games from the Nintendo eshop.

Sadly the Atlus sales never come to PAL....

Especially sad since Code of Princess is digital only here.
