Wasn't Black Flag also full with them?
I don't understand the pro argument here. I'm half suprised to not have heard the "You want them to be slaves and you are stealing food out of their childrens mouths" argument.
The way it works is that upgrading your backpack would take 3 bits of cloth and be unlocked after twenty minutes play. All fine. But no adding in the $$$$$$ option, you see it now takes 300 bits of cloth and 8 hours play.
It is not a free to play game, it is a game some people will pay $60 for. Those people don't include me. Stand up against bad practice and they will change. This world seriously needs more sensible people among the development and gaming community to steer gaming where it needs to go.

Yes. They have "resource" packs. Which is worse, really.
Bottom line? It'll still sell millions.

So long as it's balanced so you aren't screwed over if you don't pay any extra money
I have a far better idea, look at my uPlay data and see my AC loyalty and give me some free stuff
But yeah, as with all this stuff I won't be buying it. I did buy Freedom Cry and I'm happy with my purchase there and I have bought 1 or 2 other single player expansion packs. But I'm not paying for in game currency
Vote with your wallets!
If AC sales dip, they'll take a year off
If people don't spend money on microtransactions, they'll stop
It's not rocket science

Bold: Has that happened with AC?

Not yet...
But if people pay for this kind of stuff, it becomes a slippery slope. You just hope the structure of Ubisoft is such that the studio in charge of balancing prices in AC games don't talk to the studio in charge of microtransactions.
