The Xbox One version could have been 1080p.

To run games in 1080p on the Xbox requires a different approach.

Many developers are actually using ESRAM and DDR3 to run games.

The Xbox One can do 1080p as many games now are running in 1080p on Xbox One.

Games such as Forza Horizon 2, Destiny, and Diablo 3 are all running in 1080p.

Those games that are far more demanding than this golf game.

Why go through all that extra work to run a GOLF game in 1080p.

This. Resolutions and FPS's have more to do with developers laziness than the machine's actual power. That they can't reach 60 FPS even on the ps4 on such game is just embarrassing.

Present tense vs. future tense. Reviewers are playing it at 900p. They say a day 1 patch will up it to 1080p. We'll see how that goes.

True, but why would the developers state it would if they weren't sure the final game would run in 1080p.

Sounds like horrifyingly bad optimization. If Bungie can get Destiny 1080p on the One, HB Studios can sure as hell get Golf Club at 1080p :/

I wouldn't say it is laziness it is just a choice.

Doing the extra work to run this game in 1080p is not necessary in my opinion.
