Thus, as I asked, how is the line-up "much better"?

I don't understand the better line-up thing myself.  Just because a system has more exclusives doesn't mean that exclusive is going to be terribly interesting.  This holiday season imo is pretty weak across the board.  My purchase intentions for Oct-Dec:

WWE 2K15 (PS4), Dragon Age (PS4), Little Big Planet 3, An XB1 for/with MCC, and Captain Toad.  Not a whole lot going there.

Yeah this year its all about the Multiplats really, Dragon Age, AC, Shadows of Moordoor etc... the console stuff is just a little sweetner but cannot match the size and quality of 3rd party.

I think they'll lose every month still. November and December will be the closest for them but Sony is gonna murder them in September.

I think September shouldn't even discussed due to Destiny, but November and December will certainly be very interesting!

well september, october, november and december they will sell more............ than Wii U in USA. Anywhere else... good luck

Agree.

This hliday globally;

3DS>PS4>WiiU>XOne>Vita

I'd say PS4>3DS>XOne>WiiU>Vita. Even though it looks like PS4 and 3DS are currently close with VGChartz numbers, PS4's real baseline as we now know is at least 40k higher. 3DS wil do great because of Smash but I don't think it'll be enough to knock PS4 off the top, it has too much momentum going itno the holidays. XOne is going to sell fantastically in end of Oct, Nov and Dec thanks to the COD and SO bundles, I can't see how WiiU will beat it.

Yep i feel the exact same as you, Third party will lead the way this year. That being said i reckon the Masterchief collection will move a substantial amount of consoles for Microsoft.

Great games coming for Xbox in those months. It the system that gets my playtime.

What on earth does that have to do with this thread?

OP: He's partly right but you can't just ignore the rest of the year because the last four months of the year account for most of the years. Those last four months are unlikely to go much better for the Xbox One than the rest of the year.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Microsoft prepared for those months. They have a bundle every month then, so it'll help them in the US.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

Maybe they should try and outsell the Wii U first...then they can focus on competing with Playstation.

I often hear this. Outside of your opinion, what makes the 2014 Holiday line-up "much better"?

Well what would you like other than my opinion and personal taste in games? The only concrete statistical number I can give you is... number of games. And unless I'm mistaken, M$ has the most exclusives on the way by... 1.

Thus, as I asked, how is the line-up "much better"?

I really don't get this line up is better thing either. Its fast beginning to sound like a lie you tell yourself or hear at some point that you end up believing.

Any exclusive before now doesn't count, as it/they didn't change teh outcome of things so far; in the next 7 months for XB1 we have Halo:MCC, Sunset Overdrive, Forza, Dance central... am I missing anything? And for PS4 we have, Driveclub, LBP3, Bloodborne and The Order. I get people preferring a type of game over another, but I really don't get the whole XB1 has more exclusives thing. especially if what you want to do is make a list. If listing games out, The PS4 simply has more excusives. Unless I am grossly mistaken.

To OP: The guy is right though, the last 3 months of the year are the biggest in sales wise. But its not like the PS4 would just break its trend and suddenly stop selling. Then there is that little thing of where the only place the XB1 is even remotely relevant right now is in NA. Even if MS somehow manages to match sales of PS4 there... what about everywhere else?

So say the XB1 sells 3M in NA alone over the next 4 months and the PS4 sells 3.2M, how does that help when ROW the PS4 sells another 3.5M and the XB1 sells 1M?

Did he miss the Heavy PlayStation Destiny advertising plus the Destiny bundle and Destiny being exclusive in the dead to gaming Japan all in September memo?

Thanks jlmurph!
