Pokemon New Gen games can sell 2mil and thats very successful. Hell they can sell 1mil and that brings alot of money. XY wont do 5mil lifetime, it'll probably end up at 4.6mil-4.8mil lifetime, calling that a failure is a little bizarre since it'll be along with AC:NL the best selling games this generation and by FAR

I mean most nintendo games dont do 5mil either and they make money! Im sure any pokemon that does at least 2mil has some type of profit. Even COD would make a profit at 5mil (dont quote me on that O.O)

Pokemon dev team is huge though... is what I thought. Just read that it was sub 100 at XY release, sorry. Thought it was like over 300.

I think having one game be a phenomenom and then all latter games doing consistent numbers vs. one game selling well -> next game selling better -> next game selling better -> next game selling half is slightly different, but okay.

You're bringing up franchises that have been around for decades.  Most of the titles you've mentioned aren't apt comparisons.

The simple fact is, you want growth in your second main-line release.  Being several thousand copies under is not a positive sign.  Something like God Eater 2 or Youkai Watch 2 (HAHA) would be a better point of reference.  If you're the developer/publisher, you aren't happy right now.

Thier next step with the franchise will be interesting to watch.

Isn't it a mini holday in Japan? Nintendo normally do well.

In any case, great legs from MK and Youkai. Glad to see the Wii U doing solidly (well solid for a home console). Should have a mini boost for Hyrule Warriors hopefully, though not expecting much.

Nintendo has to be saving MK8 for a bundle this holiday in japan. Imagine if they did a SM3DW+MK8 bundle @.@ (with SSB releasing? o.O

no the holiday is this week last week was likely do to hyrule warriors hype/mario kart legs, or dragon quest 10 3rd release
