What about it? Wii U did 6.5k, then 7.5k, then 21k. That 1k increase is largely pointless in the scheme of things. Even if you want to attribute it to Pikmin 3, it's a such a small number that isn't worth mentioning.

It is worth mentioning and it increased the userbase week by week, even if only a little.
5.3k ⇒7.0k ⇒ 8.2k ⇒ 22k: Pikmin 3 Launch
No wiiu game or anything that could of helped (bundles/price drops/etc) released in that month.
Its definitely not wishful thinking for WiiU to go up week over week due to a game thats just about to release. Obon helped but it definitely could of been an effect of HW too.

I though it was a Hardware bundle, not just a new game, but indeed that game could move a few units, maybe not the 4k-5k that the console improved, but maybe 1k-1.5k.

Legs are great too. Looks like maybe 1mil unbundled sales is possible! Imagine with a bundle!! 1.5mil? 2mil? |
Serious question, are you expecting WiiU to beat Cube in japan? cuz I remember Double Dash sold well below 1m. I haven't been following japan sales lately and I don't know how is wiiu tracking.
btw sao is showing some legs due 2nd season of the anime :^) thats good and GTAV could be a million seller there too :o

TBH, no. Its tracking below GCN, but Sales of MK8 should indeed beat both Double Dash+Super Circuit (GBA)
190,604 more sales needed to outsell Double Dash and 302,885 more sales needed to outsell Super Circuit.
Currently - Mario Kart LTDs so far via Famitsu
Super Mario Kart - 3,820,000
Mario Kart 64 - 1,711,661
Mario Kart Super Circuit - 938,175
Mario Kart Double Dash - 825,894
Mario Kart DS - 4,002,914
Mario Kart Wii - 3,701,492
Mario Kart 7 - 2,290,104
Mario Kart 8 - 635,290 (including downloads)
It has a fighting chance if only MK8 is bundled to beat MK64. Every MK is a beast!!!

Oh thanks, and looking the numbers I agree. Super Mario Kart was such a beast :O
PS4 still not doing well in Japan, not that it matters at this point.
Sorry, sorry, I'm late to the party!
There was so much to be done on a great day as yesterday. Rather than writing a giant posts here and there I made a blog post to sum up my thoughts on this whole affair.

OT : I don't think SK2 bombed. Bombing would be in the 30K range and it's near 50K, so I think "underperforming" applies here. But as I tweeted to Takaki just after the figures went public, it's nonetheless the final and decisive evidence that SK fans want the series on Vita (or at least multi platform so everyone can be happy). Takaki and Marvelous have to face the truth before their eyes and start giving information about Estival Versus instead of covering up their shady deals on SK2. Costumers should come first in management decisions.
Really sad for Lost Dimension...
Looks like MK8 has already reached 600k in Japan! Not bad at all!
