Forums - Sony - Where are Sony's major studio announcements?

I say this knowing Until Dawn was showcased but its not from Guerilla Cambridge, Sony Santa Monica, or Quantum Dreams. Where are their games? Anyone find it crazy that we haven't heard yet? Does anyone think its going to happen outside their conference? The only studio that did was Media Molecule and its Tearaway. I am hearing mixed things that its a port and that its not. If its a port with just unique features than that is disappointing.

Now I am disappointed not hearing what they have in store but I won't hold it against them. I am impressed with what they showed, especially since they didn't showcase what a lot of their first party studios are making. Until Dawn looks awesome as does Rime, Alienation, Wild, and such. I am really stoked to hear about the rumored RPG that Guerilla Cambridge is making. Could they be holding a couple of cards against Microsoft showcasing Halo 5 at the next E3? That would be my guess.

Sony Santa Monica, Guerilla Cambridge, and Quantum Dreams just released games last year. How fast do you expect them to develop a new game? This is the price we're paying for the PS3 being so well supported in it's last few years, now the PS4 is off to a slower start. Luckily we have some amazing looking indie games to fill the gaps between major releases.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

It seems like they designate Gamescom for their weird and wacky games... :-/

It used to be "Sony announces their games years in advance" to "Where are the announcements?"

Sony is obviously not revealing things years early like they used to and mainly because they do not have to.

As for Quantic Dream, they just released Beyond in 2013.
As for Santa Monica, they just cancelled a game that was 3 years in development and just released GoW:A in 2013.
Guerilla just released Shadowfall in 2013 and Cambridge just released Killzone: Mercenary in 2013.

Too early to start seeing titles from them, unless you want to see everything from every Sony dev years and years before they will even be ready, so let them focus on what is currently on the way in the next 6-12 months.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

MM has yet to announce their new IP btw. Tearaway isn't it lol (the Vita team is working on it, which was a small team).

Sony Santa Monica is big. They are only been collaborating with Ready at Dawn with Order 1886.  Quantum Dreams been working on their game for awhile and so has Guerilla Cambridge. Their games not being done doesn't mean they can't showcase something now. We have countless times see games that are far from done. I am sure these games would have something by now. Its not like I am the only one. Most gaming journalist expected to see something from one of these 3 big major studios.

Sony showed lots of exclusives nobody even suspected existed, and have lots of exclusives people expected to see. I think that speaks volumes about how deep and broad their portfolio of exclusive games is going to be in 2015. I thought it was a brilliant showing myself.

The PS5 Exists.

I seriously am very happy with the fact that Sony is stepping away from announcing all theirfirst party games way too early if a game is still over a year away then I don't need to know about it.

Sonys lineup until summer 2015 looks extremely solid to me right now, so I can very much wait for SSM or GG to announce their new projects when the time is right.

Why do we need to see something that isn't going to be out until 2016 at the earliest? Show the games when they're ready to be shown off.

I'd rather they announce their game when they are confident they will release within a year.
