No, that wasn't a compensation. SE wanted FF14 on X360 and X1 but MS wouldn't allow it because Xbox live regulations. MS doesn't want Xbox players to be able to play with Playstation players in a MMO. You can thank MS for the lack of FF14 on your system of choice...

I wouldn't cal TR japanese just because SE is publishing, though. But SE seems a bit more opened with Xbox nowadays, also giving Type-0 HD to the X1 alongside Ps4 version.

Crystal Dynamics is a western developer and Tomb Raider has very insignificant sales in Japan.

Perplexing decision, really. I expect the Xbox One to establish much better sales by then but it is still a franchise that has been heavily associated with the PS brand. They have to understand that no matter what the Xbox One install base is by that time that sales are going to suffer tremendously.

Not sure what executive thought this was a good idea. Good get for Microsoft, though. I just would temper expectations as far as sales go that is for sure.


Well, on last gen it was 2.2m against 1.7m so the difference is not *that* big, I think.

When the userbases were equal...Now PS4 is completely dominating One. It's completely different.


But this is changing the argument and not what was about in the actual discussion.
