Forums - Gaming - Calling it now. If the amiibo is successful, big name developers will make content for the Wii U

Yeah, if the amiibo is released with smash I'm expecting something like 5mil sales in the first few weeks. I'm guessing smash fans will average out to about 3 amiibos each. Fox, Mario, and Pikachu amiibo will likely be the biggest sellers at first.

If Nintendo went all in with MK8 support, they'd add new racers through amiibo and then you'd see some stupid high sales numbers lol.

Who is going to buy an amiibo just so they can watch the game play itself? If amiibo functionality in other games is as silly and pointless as it is in Smash, then I don't see it being very successful at all.

Oh cool so you know all the smash amiibo features? Would you mind sharing with us?

On a serious note, being able to swap amiibo data or exchange amiibo ghost data online with the top competitive smash players would be amazing and potentially increase the number of tournament level players.

What makes you think there are anymore features than what they've already detailed? I haven't seen anything to suggest that there's more to it than that.

There is probably more that they can do and will later explain (my guess is in a direct in Sept/Oct for Wiiu game).

Also why do you think you only watch amiibos fight? Why would nintendo just have them do tht? O.o  (do you not kno wat they do?)

That was a simplification on my part. I just don't see a personal bot as being something many people would care about.

Probably the part where we don't even know all of the game modes for Smash itself, let alone the full capabilities of an amiibo.

On toop of that, I literally just listed one of the best features you could possibly add to Smash, and it falls in a similar vein. A lot of people take pride in raising electronic pets. Look at the digimon, tomogotchi, and nintendogs crazes. The fact it could give you the ability to fight the ghost of high level players that wouldn't give you the time of day is cool enough, but you could also consider contests through things like miiverse where you raise your own prize fighter.

and this is why nintendo needs to do a direct ffor SSB wiiu + Amiibos.  I noticed alot of people think Amiibos are just bots but thats not the case XD!

Amiibos are special characters made for the consumer. I'll explain as much as i can (well wat i get they are cuz the info is still very little in detail)

Lets say i buy Me and You buy a Mario amiibo! Lets begin.....

Each character has 4 special moves. Up, Down, Side, and Neutral. This has been practically the case in every game. This game will expand each one of your 4 special moves into 12 deciding special moves (so In the picture below, Mario Neutral B the fire orb now has 2 custom moves youcan choose from)

So i have my Mario amiibo  have the Fast Fireball (very fast but it has no knocback) and you custom yours with the big fireball (slow but powerful!).

Now we practice for a week with these amiibos, wat you customize you get to use yourself! You can customize Stats even. Look at the pic below for example!

After all of that your amiibo if your not using it, want to team up, or battle yourself learns from your playstyle of that character.

So if i play mario very cautiously then my CPU will do the same while you play aggressively and your CPU will follow wat you do (this includes all customize specials + Stats you tweaked)

With amiibos, instead of the already fun SSB game you play, now with even much much more expansion the game will stay fresh for many years to  come :)

Source? If true then it makes me want to facepalm so hard that I would hit my forehead into the back of mu skull.

When you use the Smash Bros. Mario amiibo in Smash Bros., it's able to do all of the different things designed for that game. When you take that amiibo and you use it in different games, it's not the Smash Bros. Mario, it's just a Mario. It's a more simple use for [amiibo functionality] but it's able to do those two things.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/12/e3-2014-nintendo-on-amiibo-smash-bros-and-custom-figurines

it is vague, like all amiibo info, but that is what I (and apparently the ign wiki) have infered from the interview.  So there will be some games that will have specific amiibo lines that have special functionality for those games.  However, if you don't have that specific games amiibo line then you will only have the basic character functionality.

If this is true, that's really crappy. Was really hoping they would have full functionality across titles.
