Forums - Gaming - Does the Wii U still have more 1080p 60FPS games than the PS4 and XB1?

Nobody still ever seen one of the 3 or 4 episode from Halo Collection on XB1. Last time they showed Halo 2 it was running at ~900p, they even said it'd proably be sub-1080p. And what they showed wasn't impressive at all, only empty environments...

Also if Halo 3 and 4 runs 1080p60fps like Sniper Elite 2, with constant screen tearing, I wouldn't call them 1080p60fps but rather 30fps games uncapped... I mean titanfall is "labelled" at 60fps when it's really an 30fps uncapped game, with constant screen tearing, at least when Titans are there. But what's Titanfall without Titans? Only a Cod game...

Same for Diablo 3, nothing is sure, target 1080p means nothing, it's a PR for having decent pre-orders. But they may reach the target for this game, it's not a graphic demanding game.

And about that 720p screengrab os SSB4 (first time I see it), I am surprised, they must have changed the resolution because I remember having seen and pixel counted 1080p native screengrabs of the game before! But at least the game at 720p looks more detailed and probably more framerate stable than at 1080p.

Anyway 1080p on a 3DS game was really useless, they better use 720p and improve the assets and framerates.

Halo 1 3 and 4 are confirmed 1080p 60fps. You haven't seen them because they are not the focus of the collection. Halo 2 is.

Diablo 3 is confirmed 1080p 60fps with a patch.

You won't know that until the game is out. Remember all the "MK8 is 1080p 60 fps" claims and how they turned out to be complete BS in the end? What we know for sure is that WW is 30fps, even though it's the remake of a game of two generations ago with slightly improved lighting...so disappointing.

If you want to use this to prove WiiU have a stronger HW or better graphics than X1/PS4 it is pointless since pixelcount and framerates aren't the only measures of game's graphics unless you consider that ps3 is stronger than X1 because it had some games outputting 1080p60fps and that would be ludicrous.

Ofc the Wii U has weaker hardware but not by much. I was just wondering what 1080p 60fps games every console has.

Well it seems like your thread was inaccurate to begin with since Wii U only has 1 1080p 60fps retail game.

Or his reply saying WiiU isn't much weaker...

WiiU @300 Gflops

X1 @ 1200 Gflops

Ps4 @ 1800 Gflops

The difference between ps4 and x1 is already big enough to make some noticeable diffs in multiplats that really push graphics and 2nd batch of exclusives will show that more. But all those diffs are minimal for most gamers and won't damper x1 experience.

But WiiU is in another ballpark. No game that try to put minimum advanced game on multiplats will look closely matched on WiiU and x1. Not that would be a problem, ps360 were already gorgeous and WiiU being 2-3x stronger will have wonderfull games.

But judging pixels and framerates is silly, or would you say if someone rendered pong @1080p60fps on genesis hw (we know it wouldn't output but this is merely hipothetical) then Genesis wouldn't be much weaker than WiiU??

this is almost funny if it wasnt so sad.

It is not as weak as the Wii was compared to PS360. People get offended over a piece of plastic. MK8 looks beautiful even when put aside a PS4 game. So does LoZ. All these games look great without a doubt. When I look at a platformer like SM3DW and compare it to Knack visually, I feel like SM3DW looks slightly more impressive. Just my opinion.

Whats so sad about it. That PS4 has most 1080p 60fps games or that the XB1 has more than Wii U? You know whats sad? Its that you are too ignorant to actually read the post and my edit.

If we are including unreleased games then the PS4 and Xbox One win very easily.

They win easily even without unreleased games.

Rayman Legends is 1080p/60 fps on all consoles so it isn't worth mentioning. Wind Waker HD seems to be debated for some reason, I assume its 30 fps. Other games mentioned are wrong or unreleased.

Titanfall is also a "healthy 60fps shooter" (by the words of Eurogamer) but in reality runs with constant screen tearing at ~40~45fps  with ~30fps drops when Titans are out (the core of the game), even single digits fps allegedely but DF performance video suddenly stopped showing under 20fps levels, just starting for this game...) .

Sniper Elite 2 on XB1 is also labelled 1080p60fps game and has constant screen tearing.

If we follow this logic Infamous SS uncapped is also a true 1080p 60fps game.

But those games are in fact 30fps games just uncapped, at least Infamous hasn't go any screen tearing (triple buffering) and can be 30fps capped.

They are gonna label those Halo games 1080p60fps, no doubt for marketing purposes, but at what cost? They already announced that Halo 2 is sub-1080p, they even showed us a ~900p Halo 2 game with empty bland environments so that's not promising for the Halo 3 and 4 at 1080p60fps (solid framerate without screen tearing) in my book.

I am in fact a true Halo fan, and I did buy the original Xbox with Halo CE (and the X360 with Gears of war BTW). And I am so angry at Microsoft for having released this esram bottlenecked, screen tearing filled console.

A next gen console at this price that can't even do triple buffering on any 1080p game? What were they thinking? Halo collection with constant screen tearing, a la Titanfall? because if they really follow this 1080p60fps marketing target, that's what we'll get. I mean, show me a 1080p 60fps first person shooter (with ~open environments) game without constant screen tearing on XB1 (not counting dynamic resolution like Wolf which isn't anymore a true 1080p game).

Check facts before starting thread.
