Never played Legendia..since I'm also new to the Tales Of series. But Xillia was pretty user friendly for newcomers and veterans to the series. From what I've seen from screenshots, Xillia does seem different from Legendia.

Oh ok, I'll probably check it out then!

To be honest, i wouldn´t want to miss out on any of them, but if you´re starting, Demon´s Souls is better as that is the game that set the bases for the franchise.
