I hear people say the story should have ended back in 3. Then Ascension came out, which I haven't played though I hear it's a prequel, I haven't heard much about it since it came out. Though they did say the story wasn't finished so maybe the next one will be a continuation from Ascension.

So my main question is should GoW continue?

Not with Kratos. But yes.
New setting, protagonist, and mythology, same kind of gameplay though.

The fans are the ones to decide, not the haters. So of course.

Nahh imo, least not with the same character... If they make a new character that looks less ugly, then sure

I would prefer a spiritual successor as feel the story is done.

I love the gameplay and direction of the GoW games... but I think a new timeline is needed.  Maybe Scottish, Irish, Norse or Japanese mythology...  Human history holds more than one god of war.

The last one, Ascension, was God Awful, but I liked 3. I wouldn't want to see the series end in such a manner and I side with the people saying I'd like to see the series continue in a new direction.

I agree. I would prefer a new mythos. Preferably Japanese or Norse.

I love the mythology of Ireland and Scottland and think that there is so much material to work from that using those ideas would be a home run.  Hercules is to Kratos as Finn McCool could be to Killian Fragarach.
